    A question about Pokers:

I tend to utilise the home/end/del keys a lot when typing, how natural is it to get used to always using the fn key to activate them?

    Also what about f keys?

It is painful and I never quite got there, you will with time though.

I would go with the Noppoo first.

I don't tend to use many of the fn activated keys, apart from F4/5 and Del. If you use them a lot, I'd be tempted to get a Choc mini/Race.

    You'll be lucky.
qtan had some, and will probably get some more at some point, although will be very limited in both number and options (switches, backlight colour etc)
All the major groupbuys have come to a halt for whatever reason, which is a pity (had 2 on order, one for me and a friend)

Oh yeah I noticed that tragedy with Sixty!

I wish someone would organise an EU distribution group buy for one of these boards. So much cheaper than the current options, even if it does take about half a year ;)

George have you ever seen an LED backlight mod for a Noppoo?

Nice ninja keycaps, recently got me some for my Poker ;)

    Thanks :)

I couldn't find anything on it, I would love to have a cool white LED backlight to the whole keyboard, shouldn't be too bad to do!

Theres a limited edition Race coming out in all white. White case, white pcb, white led, white keycaps. You might keep an eye out.
Choc mini pcb has no holes in the pcb or traces for led, it won't be so easy or elegant to led mod...

CeeSA has an official (or prototype) noppoo Choc mini with backlighting. Apparently it had the worst key caps out of any Noppoo :)

    He found it really ugly

Just got a BlackWidow blues - my first blue board (but I do have a CM Storm Quickfire with blues on the way)

I think its put me off blues :)

Need to purchase an MX Brown board I think

Give it time :) I love blues, they make the browns that I have at home feel less special :(

From what I know, the razer board isn't a good example of blues, had a friend who was put off them (mechanical keyboards as a whole_ when he tried one, but later on he tried my Ducky with blues and actually quite liked them.

    Oh good!

Can't wait for my quickfire then! I had a feeling I wasn't getting the full experience

One of my friends has a BWU, I told them not to get it but... they like it fine. The only thing it does have going for it is the switches. What I disliked most was the keycaps. They have a strange shape, the profile is a little taller. It makes it seem like the keys are all misspaced and awkward feeling. I am ok at touch typing, but I was stumbling all over on that board. I keep meaning to bring by a set of Cherry keys and seeing how much difference it makes.

Yay! I have joined the mechanical club now too, albeit with a keyboard you crazy purists would choose to wipe your arses* with.

It's like the olden days, I keep waking my baby daughter up typing posts with these blues!

    * Legal disclaimer: I accept no responsibility for injuries incurred if you choose to "clean up" with a Razer Black Widow.

WASD is coming out with a backlit TKL board at the end of the year. Needless to say, if I could pre-order one right now I would have. He is also looking into getting PBT keycaps.

The only thing I'm not liking about it is that there will only be white LED for a while. But I've already read that you can use a sharpie to color the LEDs, and if you get tried of that color, you can use alcohol to remove the color and then recolor them again.

I don't really like the WASD chassis.
