I was really used to a massive enter key at one point. It all changed when I got my first mechanical shipped from the US :)

Switching to ANSI took me all of 4 days to get used to the small enter, but I confess to this day I still have windows thinking its ISO UK layout - so the @/" keys aren't switched, and I can type "#" and it comes up as "£" which is arguably useful.

Only issue with this ANSI hybrid is that I have no backslash key at all!

Use US layout and then use the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator to mod the dollar sign to £ :D

Well almost anything that is Latin based. It would be a lot better if the dead keys weren't so annoying.

Did you find the keyboard layout creator?

Actually I was thinking of just switching to the US International layout instead!
    What would you recommend?

Also I read about deadkeys but not sure exactly what they are?

Dead keys are keys that you need to press to get an accented character. So you press ` and E then you get È instead of a 2 character sequence, but to get ` you have to press ` space. So it's 'dead' since if you press that ` key alone, it does nothing.
US Intl is good if you frequently type words in French or German for example, but otherwise if you are only typing English and almost never need accented characters standard US layout is less annoying. Try both, you'll see what I mean.

    Ah i see :(

OK time to find that keyboard layout creator...

In other news I have now concluded that MX Blue is too loud for my needs.
If anyone wants to purchase/trade a (new) CM Storm Quickfire MX Blue hit me a PM...

    :D

    1. Open the MKLC program and load the existing keyboard (probably US)
    2. Tick the shift box on the left then click on the # button which opens up a VK_3 Shft box
    3. Open character map and select the £ sign and copy. Paste this over the # in the VK_3 box and click OK
    4. Select project then build DLL and Setup Package and complete that process.
    5. Once saved then open the folder and run setup.
    6. After this has been installed you will then be able to add another keyboard in control panel, which in my case was US-custom, and make it the default.
Now shift+3 gives me the £ sign.
There are other keystoke methods for getting the £ sign but this method gave me what I wanted. I guess this could be used for any key changes you want.

on US International (£) is SHIFT + ALT Gr. + 4

After a week of doing this I have not noticed it being slower then the UK lay out.

edit: I'm already a member of GH, it's a giant time vampire for me

The only thing is that I'd just want the 26 letter keys to be lime green and keep everything else black like how they are now. He does offer to sell the ~37 interior keys for $20 but then charges another $10 for engraving so I might as well get a full set and sell all the keys I don't want (I'm not sure if anyone would want those keys tho). Plus I really like my engraved keys, they discourage you from watching yourself type but still allow you too if you're not on your typing game. I think I'm just going to wait and see what else WASD put out, I really like what he's doing and would like to support him.

Anyways, I may have mentioned this before but WASD is coming out with a backlit TKL board at the end of this year. I'm not sure if I want to try reds on this TKL board and make it my gaming board or sell my fullsized brown and get a TKL brown and only have one keyboard.

As far as I'm aware, the only lime green caps I've seen have been for topre boards sadly, the brighter colours don't tend to be available for Cherry MX :(
