I second Akihabara as the best place to buy electronics stuff (in Japan, possibly in the world). I spent two days there, the first almost entirely in yodobashi.

At the time I wasn't into mech keyboards though :(

    Guys, anyone recognising this keyboard?
I bought it but will have it in a week.
What is that? Does it look like Cherry?

Whoever took the photo has been very careful to hide the logo under the cable, that's all I can say!

    Looks very IBM like though.

If IBM, then it would be a spring version, right?
How much would it be worth?

Do you have a part number? Perhaps a picture of the sticker on the back?
Where did you get it from?

Looks like a cherry g80-1xxx to me but I'm not great at this.

When lysol gets out of bed he'll identify and price it in about 30 seconds...

I'm not a great expert on these things either. If it's a Cherry board then you'll be able to harvest the caps for your project, if it's a buckling spring then you won't.

Yeah, I got it for caps, exactly:)
If it's springs, then I can play with it or sell.
    I hope it's cherry:)

it has a DIN connector! Old as hell.. I remember I had this kind of keyboard like 20 years ago.
Back then it was cheap and plenty of it around..heh..;)

Ask your mate to rip a cap off and send another photo, otherwise waiting will be hell!

The only thing that is throwing me is the nipples and not sc00pz.

A picture of the sticker on the back will put us all out of our misery!

    Yeah, nipples are weird.
But it's not a membrane board right?

My first thought was an IBM but don't they have logos in the top left rather than top right? Where's lysol when you need him!

Looks like a cherry board to me but rebranded by another oem. And it appears to be cherry font - especially as the control key says control and not ctrl. Nipples are weird though, even the one on the 5 is a long nipple and not a dot nipple.

If they are cherry ds in ISO english - then that's an exceedingly nice set. Plus the caps look like cherry caps as they are actually square in the corners and not rounded like nearly all other caps.

Sounds like a rubber dome Cherry board :(

Does he have the full model number (like G83-3000)?
