Sadly RS 3000 is a horrible rubber dome with exceedingly nice caps.

But they will not fit on your keyboard, sorry pal :(

Yep, you need to aim for G80 to find the caps you are looking for.

Right only G80 or G81 will work on MX. I hate those first gen G83 as they are VERY hard to tell on sight. Thankfully Cherry didn't make them that way for long and changed the case body to make them obvious.
phinix, have you checked your thread on DT? Found some all black on white GB doubleshot sets, I know not exactly what you were after but they are a good price and 98% compatible with what you want to put them on.

Hi lysol. I just checked it, didn't see that on DT! I checked them and looks ok, but most of them are very shiny - that shine on caps means they are heavy used, right?

Yeah, they seems to be cheap. If we could find someone who will transfer them from China, i would get one set to try out.
Just to have something to do before lysol gets us those sweet cherry GMK caps:D

My ds' are quite shiny. most of the keys have a bit of texture left on them, but the F4 key is the shiniest thing ever. and they are on my work board so probably the one that sees the most typing so it's only downhill from here!

Sorry to double post, but I want to bump the thread so I get a response.

I have put some 3mm LEDs on one of my boards, they sit under the caps, before the board had square shaped LEDs, or rectangular sort of shape. The 3mm LEDs I have put in, while fit the switch properly, don't allow for thick cherry profile caps to sit right on the board. What are the square type LEDs called? anyone know, as these didn't cause the same problem.

Alternatively I guess I could sand/file down part of the LEDs that are in situe atm

    Thanks :)

I can't seem to find any i will just sand down the ones I have.

All my boards, I have taken apart a few times, the pcb's all seem to support ISO or ANSI, just obviously they have switches soldered in different places. Is it literally changing the switch positions and obviously making plate adjustments and it would just work as the other layout? I am thinking of trying to convert my iso board to ansi...

^^ Think there are a few guides about doing that on both DT and GH.

Also, My cherry DS sets are also a bit shiny and it doesn't bother me a single bit, I think it's just resale value that takes a hit.

Margon did you get my MMS? :D

Also, With the summer coming up I am thinking of selling quite a bit of my collection to fund another hobby (paintballing) so watch this space as i'll put it all up here before any of the other sites, they are getting to me badly as of late.

A lot of makers have universal pcb, support ANSI, ISO and often times JIS too on same pcb to save cost. Theoretically you can convert by just moving or adding the switch in the needed location as long as they don't have a unique firmware for each layout.
Surprised you can't find 2x3mm rectangle led, I get loads of hits when I enter that into google search. There is even some that have red, orange and yellow with 3fV instead of the usual 1.8 as well as green, blue and white which makes things nice and easy to get any color you want without having to fool about with resistors.

Just pressed keys until something happened huh? You like they did not include a manual, have one...

I don't know which is worse no manual, or one in Chinese only.

How do you like the keyboard otherwise?

Browns seem a little...soft? It's a dinky and cute little board though, kinda want the alu cased version. Might have converted my younger sister, I let her try it and she loves it.
