No idea on the release date, but I think very soon. I am also pretty interested in their new thick PBT caps.

Ducky look to be coming out with quite a few things soon, such as a numpad and their new range of full sized with the new thick PBT caps. All info from here, page 3 onwards has the new stuff I was talking about.

Edit: Just re read some parts of that thread, the Ducky/Vortex collab 60% will just be in ISO format as a variant to the regular Poker Pro. I am glad they didn't do a what I have seen in other 60% ISO's and cram about 40 billion 1x1 keys in the bottom right.

I don't really mind what layout it is, I am using both ANSI and ISO and it takes maybe 1 or 2 incorrect key presses to remember what you are on and then not do it again, and this is from someone who has been using ANSI for all of 3 hours :hehe: The only issue I have with ISO is limited availability of keys, but most group buys include an ISO option (if a little limiting as you seem to get a blank 1x1 cap) and with Ducky doing stuff like this and coming out with new ISO sets it shouldn't be too hard to find what you need.

I don't so much like ISO layout. My work board is ISO as I dial into alot of servers and it doesn't map accross what region settings you use, and all the servers I work on are in the uk, so they are all set to UK ISO, therefore it makes a lot more sense to use ISO keyboard for work. All other times I want ANSI.

That is just ISO Poker Pro, but the new version have backlight and some stuff shuffled around and some extra functionality. There will be ANSI version of it too of course. Then there is The Poker II/II Pro with the cursor keys crammed in.
If want cursor key on a small board as far as I am concerned only Leopold have manage to make something that is not a mess with the FC660

with the only thing that is a little non standard is the right shift which is also a 2.25 so not really that big of a deal.

That is actually pretty cool. The layout looks odd at first but does give all that extra functionality without all the mess and only adds a few cm to the board width.

    Question time ladies and gents....

Are there any potential pitfalls I need to avoid while swapping LEDs on my Poker. I am 90% certain I have about 30 3mm white LEDs somewhere doing nothing at all, so I am sure I can spare a few to replace the blue ones on the Poker. I have soldered before but not for a while and usually on bigger stuff so I am a bit worried about potential damage to components around the LEDs.

Anyone got a quick guide to switching LEDS?

I had never soldered anything before in my life (other than at school 10 years ago) before doing my poker but had no issues with breaking anything! Get a good desoldering pump and it makes your life soooo much easier :thumb:

I am going to get some practice in with a fan splitter board. It is just a pcb with a molex and a bunch of different voltage connectors and leds.

I checked my LEDs, I actually also have around 10 3mm green LEDs too. Only problem is none of them have long enough legs, I will have a look on phenoptix later, should only be a few quid for 10 or 20.

Edit: I have a relatively new iron and a solder sucker, I was only a bit worried because the last thing I soldered was a remote control car, maybe 8 years ago!

I've decided to thin myself down to 1 keyboard and sell my Poker with blues. I've had it since the end of August and it hasn't seen any use in the past month. The stock keycaps are fine. There are about 5 that show a little bit of shine. The rest are fine.

March techkeys cap is available :D Shall we place a bulk order then? I'm happy to organise it if people want :thumb:

There are also a couple of other new keys available if you check the site plus you can get Jan, Feb + March at a discount if you buy all three.

Edit: I've PM'd those that expressed an interest in an order from techkeys.

Also there's a GB for aluminium cases for Pokers / Pures over at GH - move fast! (Linky)

Replied to your pm. I have no real use for 90% of those keys, but I am sure I will find use for them soon :)

I don't think I could justify another to be honest, but I have a friend who is after a mechanical when he moves into his new digs, which should be Thursday.

He did say if he was going to get one he wanted it to be loud and clicky. He prefers my browns to blacks because of the bump so blues could be a good start for him. I will ask him what he thinks, if he does want it and you want to sell it then I would get it off you and square up the money with him.

Sounds good. I've removed the sticker from this one by the way. I'll also include a goody bag of extra keycaps to get him started. :D

Are you losing interest in mechanicals or just realised you have spent too much money? I hope it is the latter. Edit: That is meant for KidMod, longweight just snuck in before I hit send :)

A goody bag of extras would be cool, though I cannot promise he would receive 100% of that goody bag :hehe:

Hehe! I'll throw in some things for you.

I'm not exactly losing interest in the hobby, but I realised that I don't need 3 keyboards and all the keycaps I have. Plus Geekhack really does suck now so there's not much to go about in the hobby.

It's a smart move not to become a collector... with like 14 keyboards, about a dozen more keycap sets and counting like a crackhead who keeps saying they will stop after one more hit. I am trying to make an effort to let some of them go though.
For a 'normal' person there really isn't much reason to have more keyboards than PCs.

I need one more keyboard for my office but I just can't bring myself to spend the money anymore.
