BWU = Black Widow Ultimate The normal version UK layout.
About 2 years old, but has only seen about 6 months use due to family circumstances and has quite literally been collecting dust since. No worries have cleaned and tested it fully works including all LEDs and Function keys.

 

Didn't follow that buy - would they have met MOQ? Also, would GMK have been able to do the custom legends do you think?

 

Last time I looked it said there were over 300 orders, so they would be good to go for GMK production.
GMK said they will cut new legends, but also seem hesitant. Could have done pad printing without any problem though.
I just don't understand the whole make Cherry replica thing anymore. It made sense before anyone knew having the originals was possible. Not so much now. Apparently I am just an odd one that cares more about the profile and overall better quality than just the legends, and legends do not make GMK and SP equal by any means.

 

Are SP really that bad? You guys are making me worry here.

 

Better quality than most stock keycaps, just not as good as GMK

 

GMK > SP > Stock

With a couple exceptions, as a few boards come with nice pbt caps, but still I prefer the sp profile to OEM profile.

Ducky DK1087 has arrived with blue switches - very happy. Happily clicky clicking away now on the blues.

 

I am a hardcore SP hater so... I am very biased. Mostly I just have a severe hatred of their bottom row key shape. Also their lack of attention to detail in setting out the letters on some legends sets me off. Some other little things like that.

 

Regarding legends though Ivan, I know all the stuff in the Originative store has the messed up tab legend ect, but that's not the fault of GMK. If Sherry would just sort that out we'd be fine.

Nice haul George! Any idea what sort of condition the caps from the G80-3000HSMGB are like? Also, if you don't mind me asking- what did you pay for it?

 

Apparently they're quite shiny but I only paid £40 including postage (£35 + £5) - see why I couldn't let it pass by?! (even if I just harvest the keycaps and switches and sell it all that's a good deal in my eyes)

Cheers! There were three actually, one was very shiny and missing a keycap - that went for £35inc, the one I got was medium condition of the three and then there was one in really good nick which went for £45inc - all good deals really...

There are fewer keycap sets available online than I expected. Has anyone tried electroplating keycaps?!

 

Electroplating? You'll not find many keycap sets simply for sale online as most come from groupbuys on Geekhack / Deskthority

 

Yeah, spray the caps with conductive paint and plate them! I really want copper and gold caps. ;-)
