    I'm sure that SSK will!

Was watching a Dolch on ebay today but didn't buy it in the end...

In other news, some goodies arrived today:

    G80-3000 & Tipro

This thing is huge! Good job that my work desk is about 7ft long!

Obligatory 'look how huge it is compared to a Poker' shot

And of course, what's the first thing that any self-respecting keyboard geek does when he receives a new keyboard - he takes it apart to mod it of course! I was entertaining the idea of keeping it with blues, however having modified the alpha section to (ghetto) reds with some black stems I had left over there's no question that reds >>>>>> blues

    <3 reds <3 <3 <3

Now just need to desolder the switches off the tipro to pinch those stems too to do the rest of the board :naughty:

Also I read some reviews online that marked the board down for not having dimples on the F & J keys to identify them which I thought was a little odd... I assumed that they would just have flat keys like rest - what I didn't realise that it would come with scoops! SCOOPZ CHEESECAKE!!! :D The lasered keycaps are actually quite nice - certainly nice and thick.

All-in-all pretty impressed - especially for £52.99... It is very light however but I suppose that's to be expected for less than half the cost of a Filco...

don't suppose after all you swapping etc you would have 87 black springs you don't want no more?

all your keyboards are looking nice :)

I may well do - I'm sure I could do you a good deal :thumb: I've already promised 60 to shirty but that should leave me with about 92 left over (based on what I already had + what I'll get from the Tipro)

Edit: And yes, flattery will get you far...

And for anyone planning to mod from blacks to reds or maybe some ergo clear action, I'll have some blue springs available too.

You could have just bought a G80-3494 :p

Oh wait, it's back to full price again now, never mind. As much as I like mine, it's not a £95 keyboard.

I was pleased with the keycaps generally too, they're definitely thick. Lasering isn't amazing though.

Got all the black springs and stems from my g80 going begging but no time to do anything between work and house move. If you can wait til start June margon, they are yours if you can sort out the key chatter on my 1800 by donating a couple of switch housings. Been boxed for a while but I reckon its less than half a dozen keys that are problems.

Mine'll be available at the start of next week (assuming I get them desoldered at the weekend which shouldn't be an issue).

GMC - If you want a couple of switch housings then just drop me a line - I'll have loads going spare soon (more than I'll know what to do with to be fair)

Hello - I don't have any spare switch housings, I might do in a couple of weeks, but if you need me to sort your board if GK has some going spare we can buy some off him and get it sorted. Do you know which keys are bust? do you still want springs and stems swapping on all of them? I like a good keyboard fiddle :D

By the time I'm done selling springs to you and Shirty I'm going to have hundreds spare... What is switch chatter by the way?

There's nothing quite like a good fiddle...

Nice :D Looking forward to getting mine too.

On another note my G80-3000HSMGB arrived today - wasn't actually expecting it til next week :D In the ebay description he says that the keys are 'fairly shiny' but actually they're in pretty good condition! Some of the alpha keys have some shine but a lot have some texture left and the 'other' keys have a good amount of texture left!

Just need to decide what to do with it now...

If you wanted to write "hello Margo" and it came out as "hhello Margo" then that's key chatter - unless you pressed H twice.

Ah right - well, if some new switch housings will sort that then you're more than welcome to some!

Very nice! Still tempted myself - still think I'll get mine from Singapore if I do decide to go down that route... Quite like the look of the new Leopold 660C Topre
