A nice bright red powder coat on the plate with some low profile u channel along the 2 feet would look good I think.

i think it'd depend on how you tidied up the visible ends on each side of the keyboard.

depending on the actual fit of everything, if the front and back edge are sloping away from the keyboard (not straight down and not sloping inwards) then i'd be tempted to attach 4 squarish feet to the underside of those. the angle would mean the metal edges would be lifted slightly off the desk and so avoid scratching, but the feet themselves shouldn't be visible (depending on thickness of both the plate and the feet). I'm not sure what you'd make them from, a relatively high density rubber i guess so they won't distort too much under pressure and make your board wobble as you type.

but then i didn't get in on the gh60 gb, so i don't have to worry about such things :)

It wouldn't be that hard to design platecase in such a way that it bends back in a bit to have some tabs, drill and tap, and have a second piece that comprises a bottom and sides. Simple, cheap and a full case. Basically it would end up looking similar to tiny version of the Corsair casebody style.

Just spotted this on fleabay. For £40 plus postage seems to be a nice price.

I've seen that thing "sell" a couple of times in the last few weeks. Pretty sure it's the same photo and description.

I guess they found a cache of them somewhere and don't want to flood eBay all at once? Don't know. Seems a bit suspicious that it's the exact same picture each time though.

    f***....

What does it say there - bad address?

I hope tjcaustin will find some other fast priority option - do you think our guys would pay additional few pounds to get it safe and quickly?

This is f*** unbelievable - we have been waiting for it for 3 weeks now and it never left US, this USPS is a freaking joke. If there is no refund, they must give some reason, right?

I'm willing to pay more to get it fast and safe, maybe there is other courier or other option...

Their reason is 'bad address' despite the address being perfectly correct (it's the one on my paypal account that I have stuff sent to all the time including from the US.) My thoughts are that they water damaged it to the point of not being able to read my address any more and so returned it...

I'll see what tjcaustin comes up with in terms of shipping options...

What set? In the parcel? A mix of Klaxon, DSA Retro and some other stuff.

I'm having a look at shipping options and there are some which are more speedy - like possibly towards the middle / end of next week to me and then early the following on to you guys.

My first thought is to look into is what you would have paid if you had just ordered it separately from our mini buy and then seeing where that leaves us (me)...

Edit: In case the above isn't clear, what I'm trying to avoid is anyone being worse off that if you'd just ordered them separately.

Right - firstly apologies for double post. I'll wait to PM everyone until after I've heard from tjcaustin as to what he finds price-wise but unless I'm calculating things incorrectly a 'proper' courier company would be ridiculously expensive (between $100 and $200 but closer to $200). Now obviously I don't know the weight of the parcel and that makes a fair difference but the quotes I've just got from UPS & FedEx (assuming I'm using their online tools correctly) for a 5lb parcel is upwards of $150...

That leaves us back with USPS... :worried:

Assuming that we do go with them again I do not want to use "Priority Mail" again (which as far as I can tell is just their equivalent of RM First Class. Again assuming that I'm using the online tool correctly that leaves us with two options:

If shipped Monday then GXG would take 2 days (Wednesday) and Express Mail International would take 4 days (Friday) and would come with tracking etc

    Thoughts?

Also, given the issues with shipping, I am now very tempted to post all orders on to you using special delivery which offers £500 compensation (compared to £20 first class), guaranteed next day delivery, tracking and isn't that much more than a first class 'medium parcel'.

    Again - thoughts?

Finally - apologies that this is happening (not that it's my fault really) and apologies for posting this all in the thread rather than going through PMs - I just don't want you to think that I actually have your keycaps and am rolling around in them whilst spending your money on beer and wotsits...

I wrote out a massive paragraph. *page is busy*. Left tab open. Came back. Hit F5
    *RAGE*

TL;DR I think we should use non priority shipping insured up to the keycap value. Couriers are no faster at this kind of international IMO.

USPS should apply the paid postage to the next attempt. It's not the sender fault the parcel was damage. For international there really is not much difference in speed or handling between first class and the most expensive option. It all flys on the same plane! No reason to overpay.

    LOL!
