Is that something they will definitely do or something that they should do in your opinion?

I have always gotten the post office to do this and it is what is supposed to be done. Postage was paid for delivery not for 'trying'. No delivery, either they supposed to take that for next attempt on same package or you should get a refund say if the packaging is returned empty since there is nothing to send again.

Right chaps - looks like I was using the online tools for the courier companies correctly and they would want $140-$160 which is ridiculous... As such it looks like we'll be going with USPS again, although definitely not their 'Priority Mail' option...

Any final thoughts / comments before I make a decision?

Finally, our package may have become water damaged as a result of all the flooding etc being experienced in the states at the minute...

    Need some switch advice.
With one of my GH60 PCB's I want to do something like a realforce variable board.

I'd like it to be tactile and non clicky (work collegues are a little annoyed by the loudness of my pures browns - I always bottom them out). As such, other than MX Clears what other switches would I need to look at?

I'm guessing as Clears are similar to Browns that I can use them for the keys that my ring and middle fingers are used for. How ever what are my options for lighter and heavier switches?
and also what shall I use for the space?

Do clears, panda clears and ergo clears :D

panda clear is slightly lighter than a clear, and an ergo clear is lighter than that again.

What springs would I need to source for the panda and ergo's? I guess blacks for the pandas?

Black for pandas, 'light' for ergo (brown, blue, red).

Why would lighter switches help with the noise? The tactile bump makes hardly any noise so all of the noise must be coming from you bottoming out all of the time.

So what long is saying is either a) practice typing without bottoming out - you'll be much slower at first, but you'll pick all your speed up again, I find that as I get tired (even with greens) I bottom out more and more as my manly hands of steel crash into the keys... or b) try some O-rings, which will dampen the impact noise of bottoming out.

If you want to reduce noise you could try something like o-rings or soft landing pads. Not tried them myself but they are supposed to help with noise a bit... The 'quietest' board I have is my poker with clears - not because they're inherently quieter but you have to really hammer them in order to bottom out. Is fun bottoming them out on purpose though BASH BASH BASH hehe

Edit: Ninja'd lol - having far too much fun bashing away (at my keyboard that is )

Hi George. I don't mind paying their GXG to get it here in two days and the special to me. This wpuld mean that I would get my caps by Friday. However can you tell how many guys have their stuff there so we know how we would need to devide this $109? That is a small difference betwen that 109 and $73. We need to check if all guys are ok to pay for that gxg

I would do my best to turn them around that quickly to get them to you by Friday but I couldn't guarantee anything mate - I have a full time job and am in the last few weeks of planning a wedding...

Edit: Oh yeah and this weekend is my stag weekend & I'm beginning the marking of 10,000 GCSE questions soon too - so just a little bit busy...

Edit 2: I was mainly saying about special delivery so that we are more covered for compensation purposes rather than speed.

Edit 3: Also, I'm not sure how customs works with these options because, assuming there's a fee to pay, that would slow things down surely?

    I understand, no worries George.
Most important thing is - do you know if any of caps have been damaged my water?
Were they all in bags sealed or are they damaged?

All the caps are fine apparently so no worries there... I'm going to come up with a cost comparison for everyone and PM in a bit

    Cheers

    GK

Edit: And I'm not going to wait to hear back from everyone - I'll go on what I hear today

Phinix you need to relax! It's a GB parcel from two different group buys so there is always going to be delays. Let George work out the best way to get the parcel over. You cannot rush these things, if you really want it quick then ask TJ to remove your stuff and arrange faster shipping direct with him.
