I actually didn't like 55g! Very stiff, didn't really like the feedback, I think I am a 45g person, variable is alright, but my fingers are all pretty strong as I have played bass for 15 years or something, so I didn't really like the lighter switches on the variable, and the way the feedback was different across the board. Different strokes for different folks :)

Having read into it a bit more, apparently 55g are close to blacks in terms of stiffness which I don't think I'd get on with that well... Hmm... I shall continue to think...

Have recently tried clears and they are stiffer than the browns on my pure, but I found the sound nicer, not as high pitched as the browns. I really like them. Cant wait for mine to arrive from the gb on DT. Oh and my GH60 PCBs.

Do you know if the number/function rows are also 55g?

I hate to disturb your Topre party but I need some advice on mechanical :)p) keyboards. Specifically are DCS keycaps for the Ergodox worth it? As far as I can tell the DSA caps (I ordered mine with the DSA) make the surface completely flat, whereas the DCS will make the overall surface of the keyboard more curved (i.e. closer to that of e.g. a Model M)? I really like the feel of the Model M keys so does that mean DCS is the way to go?

There is a good group buy coming up for DSC caps - hyperfuse, the mockups are in the ctrl alt store vendor page on geekhack. That will have a dox kit.

I am not a topre convert, I type on all my keyboards regularly.

I use Topre in one office, a £10 dome board in the other and MX with Scarface at home.

Not a terrible setup :p (apart from the £10 monstrosity that is)

I would quite like a full size board instead.
