    I rather like the UE3 engine: it's pretty and runs actually very well on low-end hardware. It's certainly proved to be far more future-proof than some of its contemporaries like id Tech 4 (Doom 3 engine).

    I wonder if they will go down the 'paid server only' or 'IW.Fail' route. Wouldn't surprise me.

    The two engine idea is good IMHO. Use the right tool for the right job.

    Paid server is exactly what BF2 does, and frankly I see no problem there. You need server integrity for games with persistent stats and ranking like Battlefield, it's not like CS:S. That integrity can only be assured by EA allowing certain companies to set up BF2 servers providing they meet quality and integrity standards.

    I think this is good in some aspeects. MP should be a tweaked version of SP engine, but essentially they are developing two games if they don't select carefully, although I suppose the reality is that MP is a different game in a lot of ways....

    u3 engine good orly?

    I believe Modern warfare 2 is using id tech 4 engine
