1080i is not really as good as it sounds, your graphics card will get a better picture at 1366x768, 720p is better then 1080i IMHO

And also your TV's max resolutions is probably 1366x768 or 1024x768 so windows will never be able to display at higher resolutions. LCD TV's arn't going to display at high resolutions, as there for watching TV 3-5 feet away, a desktop monitor is for viewing maybe maxium 1 foot away.

You reckon? There's nowt wrong with the resolution of my [42" Toshiba] LCD TV (1920 x 1080 = full 1080p)

A "maximum of 1 foot away" :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:
As John McEnroe used to say... "you cannot be serious" :eeek:

    Are you going blind

I'd suggest that anyone who needs to have their monitor a "maximum of 1' away", should not only see their optician immediately... but probably their doctor as well!

I'd wager the majority of us have our monitors at least 2' away... if not 3'-4' or more - depending on size?

I find i need to sit close to my monitor in order for me to work efficiently, and i thought most people do the same. Also i have been in my preferred position in front of my monitor for well over 5 years now and i have perfect eyesight. "To each his own".
Also found a nice little quote to support my answer, "The problem is that TVs with true 1,920 x 1,080 resolution have been few and far between, with correspondingly stellar price points".

    I stand corrected!
