Ive got an issue which is quite annoying. When ever im watching stuff through media player after about 20 mins the screen goes black and i loose the sound almost like it goes to sleep but ive changed the settings in power options so it doesent go to sleep. And also ive disabled the screen saver. Any ideas??

Might be a power saving setting in the bios, using onboard graphics I take it?

If you have / can download the manual its certainly worth having a read to check. Reason I asked about the graphics is because if you're running a card, it may have its own power settings that are causing it to turn off after x minutes, vs the mobo / OS being responsible..

I am only thinking out loud though, never had this issue myself as I do only use onboard graphics ( not a gaming/ graphics pc, just basic work/porn station  )

Thanks for the replys, shudda sayed at the start. The reason ive found this problem is because i run an HDMI cable from my GPU to my TV and watch movies thru that so dont think its monitor related as i normaly have the monitor switched off. Il have a look at the other options tho.

When you say media player do you mean media centre? as that has its own settings screen for power saving and will shut off regardless of settings in control panel.
