So what's a MOOLED? Basically a Matrix Orbital (MO) MX232 USB LCD with an OLED make-over, ok i know you can buy these now, but hey where's the fun! Actually i stumbled upon it by accident as i noticed the OLED module being exact the same size and pin layout as the MO LCD. pix! In the very beginning there was.. The OLED module, first wired and tested to be really HD44780 compliant. It is. Side by side Separated! Notice the OLED module being very thin. Equipment, my AOYUE hot-air de/solderstation and that heated tin-sucker(?) what a brilliant invention! OLED module joined to the USB backpack And yes it works! Quite nice i must say this OLED stuff, super viewing angle. Green on a deep black background. How's that for a little fun

nice! i want one. i was just looking for some of those OLED's. I found some PLED (basicly the same, i think). They are actually cheaper than LCD's. i also found a graphic PLED. Not too expensive either.
Damn - at only ~$30 I might have to pick up one of those buggers. How is the current consumption? And how is the visibility in sunlight?
Current consumption is in the specsheet which is included. Visibility i must say is even better than VFD due to the stark green/black contrast. Viewing angle is ofcourse a non-issue. HAPPY NEW YEAR BTW!!!
Hehe yes ofcoorz i could do that IF the display was here at home Smilodon, which graphic PLEDS have you found? I've seen a couple which are very usable, though quite expensive 45 euro and up.

I've seen that Bolymin OLED before, though it claims KS0108 compatability it isn't as it only has one CS pin. This one (OLED>GRAFIK) looks to be really KS0108 compatible, and cheaper than Elfa! Ofcourse this is assuming you want to use these displays with common LCD apps, otherwise any OLED will do if you can write your own routines (i can't ).
Just spotted the same module at Crystalfontz for $28. nleahcim: power connsumption (typical) 80mW edit: here's the real full datasheet http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/CFAP2002M/CFAP2002AYECS.pdf
Hi coorz! I managed to win one of those OLED displays from eBay for $15.50 + $7.50 shipping. Now waiting for the display to arrive... Thanks for the links to the eBay auctions. Chris
So I've gotta ask, can you only get that USB converting board attached to a MO LCD display or can you buy them independantly? Of course, I really should just hook up my new VFD. Haven't gotten a chance yet. Damn college essays.
