I have found an old VFD in some scrap bits(new) and I have no idea how to gEt it up and running. It is a 40x2 ASCII vfd display and has a part no of pv0190-001-f The connector is a 16 pin 2x8 0.1" format. I have done a google search but found nothing! There are many chips onboard so hopefully it has the controllers built in. IC no's: 2 x motorola HC373A CPKK9814 (since found this it's a non inverting transparent latch!http://moon.feld.cvut.cz/hw/motorola/books/dl129/pdf/mc74hc533arev3.pdf) OKI PV12187 5332209 VI 3 X OKI C1162A 8172353-B M27C2568 12C1 E PR88P9815 Any advice or pointers would be gratefully received. EDIT: I found another 1 this one is much more promising as it's another 40 x 2 character but this is a black on green LCD and uses bog standard Hitatchi HD44780 controller with sunplus SPLC100 cascades. So I'm getting on handsomely finding info on this one. Still it would be nice to have the Blue VFD running for an HTPC I'm building.
