My computers just stopped working i think I may of damaged my mobo by pressing my heatsink on to hard beacuse thats the only change since it was working.

The computer Posts (Beeping noise) but the monitor doesnt come on and my 'D-Bracket' says the problem is:

    'Memory Detection Test
    - Testing onboard memory size. The D-LED will hang if the memory module is damaged or not installed propperly.'

The mobo is a MSI K7N2-L, anyone got any ideas whats wrong? and what needs fixing/replacing.

Edit - Ive tried two sticks of RAM and it makes no difference.

    Cheers :thumb:

  2. If you have 2 sticks of memory try using only one and see if that is the problem.

Have you reseated the heatsink? Check the CPU for damage... Also try the mobo with no ram, see if the error chanages... Can you try other ram in the board at all?

What POST code is it giving? (the beeps). Check your manual .

Could the video card have come unsteated from it's slot when you flexed the motherboard?

Ive checked the CPU and cant see any damage, same error without ram.

No ive not got any more ram.

Theres no longer any noise... It was just one loud beep (manual doesnt say anything about beeps).

Ive tried two different video cards, they both work on another computer.

If i have no hard drive and no ram connected the screen should still load should'nt it?

Thank you for you help so far :hip:
