im in the process of picking out memory for my asus p4p800 and ideally i *want* 1gb and i *want" corsair twinx pc3200 LLPT, although it isnt particularly cost effective i have seen it hit 2-2-2-5-1T in every system it has been in regardless of what it is rated for. but it is $310, hmm, quite (or $168 for 512) now this is where geil steps in, for $200 i can get 1gb pc3200 golden dragon ($100 for 512)(looks bloody cool with those leds) but it is 5ns chips as opposed to 4.5 in the corsair and doesnt get anywhere near as tight timings then theres ocz, which is a bit less than the corsair and a bit more than the geil but kind of in the middle. the question is, should i get 512 of corsair LL, and then get another 512 at a later date when i would make more use of it, get 1gb of the geil but be forced to run it at slower timings, or something else entirely i dont really think i would make use of anything over 512mb much but its nice to know its there wont be overclocking it any (running the fsb at 1ghz but have a divider on it so its still 200mhz) but i want something to run at 2-2-2-5-1T if possible would i see more performance increase from 512mb of corsair or 1gb of geil? or should i just sod common sense and get 1gb of corsair, or maybe 2? EDIT: oh yeah and thres the C2 version of the corsair as well which is $240 for 1gb but loses out in the timings and i know that faster timings dont make a masive difference (not 50% faster for 50% more pricy anyway) but it would be nice to know that i have the fastest possible and am getting the most i can get out of my rig
