Merry Christmas, people of the forums. However you celebrate it, make sure you enjoy it. We all deserve a break from life for just one day!
I think someone let the dogs out... My buddy sent me this pic from his house in Maryland today and @MLyons was there opening his presents.
Other than skipping winter and going to Australia a few years back, I think this has to rank as one of the best Christmas' ever. We're in lockdown, so everything is Canceled! It's like a dream come true for me, as I f#*(ing hate christmas.
It's boxing day, but Merry Christmas everyone ! The only thing that went wrong this year was the cancellation of the local Christmas market, which meant I couldn't go and get a giant hoisin duck wrap from the duck wrap people, I'll have to get 2 next year to make up for it.
Pretend it's a leap year and get 3. Is that how it works? I've never been great at poutlry based reward system calculations.
@fix-the-spade I feel ya, ours normally has a venison stand and an ostrich stand, both locally sourced free range stuff. No idea where to find it the rest of the year round. I'm with @play_boy_2000 on xmas generally, I don't like the excess spending and waste and postal overload and noise and fuss and self-imposed stress and people forcing themselves to spend time with in-laws and relations they don't actually like. It should just be a simple affair imo. So this xmas has been perfect for us. Minimalist, chilled out and easy. I went full scrooge and didn't bother with cards or wrapping paper. Using printed card and stuff, and overloading the postal system, just to literally write "merry christmas" to people you'll see or talk to regularly anyway, then everyone throwing a ton of non-recyclable glossy glitter filled crap into the recycling bin at the same time, choking up the system for a week, is pretty weird when you think about it. Bought people gifts if I could think of something good, didn't bother otherwise. Told them "merry christmas" over messenger. People seemed just as happy with this approach, and I'm pretty sure the environment, postal workers and recycling centres are cool with it too. [/scrooge] Nobody got me any books this year either, and I managed to gift away a couple of mine. So that mess is finally moving in the right direction. Anyone else hit the point in life where you just have WAY too many books?
