Cant really complain about the choice of weapons I mean come on having a silenced shotgun and LMG who isnt going to enjoy those!

The early missions are annoyingly un stealthy but you can re do those and complete all the extras extract all the people you missed etc. The game really ramps up when you get buddys and have the Skulls to deal with.

Tip for the box, extracting the lost dogs soldiers, just go over in a box, when they notice you sit an wait they come over an recognise you as big boss easy money.

    > Once you work with Tim Smalley (ex BT Editor/GPU reviewer) graphics analysis is an occupational hazard :sigh:

    > Yea the level of hyper-sexism and hyper-masculism is "East-Asian level" for sure. It's the same everywhere here. A super hot, mostly naked woman that doesn't talk? Every Otaku's dream. Surprised there isn't a "make me a sandwich" option.

    > Urgh I kept firing all my D and E rank people. ****.

    > Currently I'm playing on "Blow everything the **** up", which works very well. Rocket launcher + gren launcher clears a side mission base quickly. I really don't give a crap about the story, I've never played an MGS before so I don't know who these people are except for Snake. :) Shame Kojima couldn't make a Splinter Cell, then I'd be watching it all.

The more I play the more I get into it - the more developed things get and more advanced the levels/people, the better the challenge.
What pisses me off now (~12 missions in) is 2 things: The low morale on home base. I'm not walking around visiting everyone, so they can keep fighting it out. Secondly it costs 17k to call a chopper.. jeeeez I'm not horsing it - or walking (with D-Dog) round everywhere damnit. You can't just hop from LZ to LZ.

Ah it's fantastic in the low requirements regard. Very optimized with no stutter! A great example of properly ported engine (part thanks to common x86 hardware in consoles/PCs this time).

Certainly the major issues with the game are the same for everyone: the constant waiting (for the chopper to come, for the chopper to set you down), the possibly intentionally annoyingly regular opening credit sequences (Kojima was having problems with Konami for a while, hence plastering his name everywhere as a final '**** you', predicting Konami would remove his name on the box and in promotional material).

The sexism is unfortunately a staple of Kojima. He's stereotypically Japanese in that regard, and you can't change him because he's been that way for decades, so you just kinda have to deal with it and find the hilarity in it. His sexism is ignorant, rather than the kinda sinister David Cage/Quantic Dream sexism. It's in most of his games - Snatcher has towel nipple pokage from a 14 year old girl who you just caught in the shower, Policenauts has the main character constantly perv on his cop buddy's barely legal gymnast daughter. I'll share my fave Kojima screenshots:

The annoying thing is, because of the recent extremist male-oriented sexism in the name of 'feminism' or 'gender-equality', some people just go defensive and say "you can dress Quiet in an unlockable outfit that covers her up so you're just a complaining *****" etc.

Yes that's why she literally waves her breasts in your face in the chopper and Kojima tweeted a pic of him squeezing her toy figure's squeezable breasts.

Didnt realise you could do that.

Came back to the game after a while not playing it, greeted with a load of unlocks new staff etc. apparently my FOB isnt to bad won a few battles though im still yet to try one myself. went back re did some of the early missions, yeah that wasnt fun whole Russian force had riot armour on an I had a riot gun, lots of sending in D-Dog to stun people! End of the mission I got called back for another "outbreak"
    Dam you Huey!
Unlocked the wormhole Fulton which is great fun no more dragging people outside to remove them. Still need to work down a few of the options for the toys I want but im getting there.
