The pump top/housing is made from black acetal on an industrial CNC machine. The producer is Freedom Punk, a local geek who runs a small cottage industry of PC water cooling mods. I am almost sure his products aren't haunted.
Weeeell, you're not dealing with a n00b here! Of course I will open the parcel only in an appropriately shielded and grounded environment (level 5 consecration) and within a laser-boosted pentagram hooked to a Dho-Na circuit, after visual inspection with a Koch-Bauman resonator. If I see anything in the negative energy spectrum, it's off in a runic lead-lined containment cylinder to the Facility, and let those guys exorcise it. Neutralising incantations will be running on a looped tape throughout (I automate as many of these rote rituals as possible; it all chips away at the brain over time and don't want to end up with Krantzberg Syndrome!), and I will have an empty soul vessel baited with a Sumeric attractor at the ready in case I missed something. That should do it. Oh, and just in case the courier turns out to be a No-Name, of course I will not invite him in, and I will make sure to tip him. If he refuses, I'll know something is up.
You're just lucky you have the Laundry. We're stuck with whatever we can work with, and I've been forced to resort to a Tillenghast resonator before I even open the door these days. Who keeps pissing off those that dwell at the bottom of the Mandelbrot set?
But....I dont even. You could just get it addressed to next door and let them open it... I just bought stuff from there, because its a bit different, that D5 top is very nice and would look good in the 'collection'. Because its my 808th post... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeZZk2czG1c
What have I started? You could get your coolant blessed. De-ionized holy water probably has never been done. There could be a market for it even!
I can do RO holy water. Have to charge, though. Also seals and blessings, in a number of languages. Just attach inside your PC. Extra for the blessed wax seal, which I can do with powdered silver and cold iron as well. No warranties against porn though.
That would come in handy. Currently I have an image of the Om Mani Padme Hum which is inscribed on Tibetan Mani prayer wheels on each of my two hard drives, essentially turning them into fast-spinning prayer wheels (true. I have no expectation that it does anything, but I thought the idea was kind of cool). But Ada will have SSDs, so there won't be any spinning going on.
True, but inscribing that on an impeller is gonna be nigh impossible. I'll see what I can't do about a blessing you can hide under the veneer, or even a PC specific mezuzah type item.
Anti-virus software alone just don't cut it these days... But it seems strangely appropriate to the Steampunk-ish aesthetic of the case. Meanwhile, test-fitting the panels. The shape of the case is starting to reveal itself... EDIT: Now I've upgraded my lathe chuck to a badass 100mm four-jaw self-centring chuck, I have been able to start working on square stock. Below the first stage of making the power/reset lever link arms...
Yummy. [I see changing the font size to 100,000 doesn't work.] Me like. The shape has a lot of implied movement. It's easy to figure out where the front is.
Getting you proper protection from stuff you summon will be its own worklog I believe. Should be fun.
Thought so too, but unfortunately I already have the EKWB M6I waterblock (the all-in-one that covers the whole mobo) and the accompanying ASUS Maximus VI Impact mobo. Typically I bought them just before the ASUS Z97i came out... Which is annoying because the Z97i does aesthetically fit really well. Still, today I have (amongst turning some brass taper holders for Christmas presents) made (nearly) at least one of the link arms for the power and reset switch: Paerting off old skool style, with a clockmaker's piercing saw: And here the result ready for finishing with the mill: I also got some SSD's. I'm trying to work out a nice brass mounting mechanism with some nice lever action of some sort...
