Two of the most excellent games ever are getting a Redux version, coming this summer on Steam for £34 According to the descriptions, there are a host of tweaks ranging from altered gameplay to improved performance. Those who already own these games on Steam receive 50% off. I've preordered these, simply because I loved the originals and see it as my way of supporting good game making.
I wonder if they fixed Last Light GUI. Regardless, it's too expensive, I'll wait till the bundle drops to 10-nish €.
Loved both games so may pick it up, but does it include any additional story, etc? As i can't get enough!!!
I'm a bit worried they might pull a Doom 3 BFG edition and release the games with the enemies having altered or less spawns and ammo being more plentiful regardless of the difficulty. I do know there's going to be new game modes that will alter the enemies and resources but I'm wondering more about the normal mode/vanilla game than the additional stuff. The store page and dev blog post is pretty barren on details of exactly what's changed which is making it hard to pre-order, especially at only half off for owners of the other games.
If this is anything like Deus Ex: HR Directors Cut was to Deus Ex: HR, I may be tempted into picking it up.
I'll most likely be picking up at least 2033, still haven't actually got around to finishing Last Light so not sure on that one. Part of me is tempted to buy regardless just to support them since 2033 is probably one of my favourite games of all time, certainly one which gave me some of my most memorable moments, and I'd like them to keep going and making more
I own 2033 but not through Steam, which is a shame as it means I won't be able to get the half price offer - I haven't played it yet and would love to do so in the remixed version. Any existing 2033 Steam owners happy to gift it to me for the reduced asking price?
Definitely tempting, wondering is 2033 redux might make me replay it properly, started it again on Ranger mode but I just stopped part way through, not sure if it's because I've just not really been in the mood, or just didn't enjoy playing it through again. The differences in redux might be enough to make me want to replay it fully regardless.
It's unlocked!!! Lovely new intro / menu for 2033 - but can anyway find a source of all the actual changes? It was a while ago i complete metro, so have no real comparison! EDIT: Changes It does look lovely and i'm going for my first Ranger mode playthrough..... EEEEEEEEK!
Redux is awesome. At least the 2033 Redux. LL Redux is a bit meh. In 2033; they changed the layout of some stations slightly, another massively, added little nods to other things, unified the UI between 2033 & LL and nerfed Amoebas. The last item was the reason I refused to do a Ranger Hardcore playthrough of normal 2033, infinitely spawning suicide bomber style enemies are not fun. Game also looks a lot better than it used to, as well as running better on modern hardware than 2033 did, I love some of the new bits, too. I'd post screenshots, but I don't want to spoil things for people.
