Xbox 360 MGS4 for 360

apparently a caller was told by mistake by hmv when asking for information to be sent if any details surface of it coming to the 360 and the retailer asked him if he wanted to pre-order...

dunno how true this is but yeah if anyone else has a confirmation?

Er... nope. Obviously I didn't say anything bitchy, but mikeuk2004 and K are both 360 owners. They're certainly not PS3 fanboys. To be honest with you mate, I think they are just a bit sick of this rumour, as am I. It's come up over and over again. The bottom line is that even if MGS4 does come out for 360, it won't be this year, and until I see a press release on the Konami website, I won't believe that it's coming to the 360 at all - Kojima is pretty loyal to Sony. Not only this, but as MGS4 is arguably one of only two exclusive games this year that has the potential to really sell PS3s, I'd be very surprised if Sony didn't fight tooth and nail to retain exclusivity.

It's not PS3 fanboy's being bitchy it's a rumor that has been squashed over 3 times now being brought up by "insiders" everytime a blogger wants a few hits to their site. Bottom line is, until Konami confirms it, it's fake. And thus far Konami is said it is exclusive over 3 times now. Konami isn't Capcom, which is notorious for not keeping their word, and promising to decapitate themselves if they were lying. And everyone reads way too much into everything Konami says. Until it is announced for Xbox 360, it is a Playstation 3 title and trialers, Kojima, and Konami have more than provided enough evidence that people need to drop the issue and let it go.

 

tbh mgs4 and gta4 where the only reasons i wanted a ps3... and now gta4 has got the exclusive content and gt5 is the only exclusive IF mgs4 comes to the 360 i can't justify it:\
i wanted skate and assassins creed but since the buggyness it was like such a off putter... and don't tell me AC does it on the 360 cause it certainly doesn't on mine and i haven't lmao hacked/modded my console... it was yes to do with the ps3's kernel and bugs that again were made worse with the 2.0 update but the point is this shouldn't be happening on a console.yeah their complex now but the 360 does updates and has the whole XBL system and worked flawlessly since its first uptime...
oh and RE was a game i wanted but again thats coming my way on the 360...
I'm a DIE HARD MGS fan and that still can't push me near it:\ and kojima himself was banging on about the possibilitys of 360 integration so idk... gta was loyal to pc and ps1 and look what happened their.
its only a matter of time...
and isn't silent hill made by konami which it is... and they were all about silent hill and they brought that out to the xbox along with special editions...
so i don't know about loyalty tbh... seeing as mgs also went to the pc and xbox aswell...
even if waiting a year there will be loads more still amazing games on the 360 to play just as teh ps3 starts to even build up its first 25 good ones... so by the time we've played through them we'll get mgs and by then it'll probably be substance style special edition which they'll blatantly cash-in with yet again and we'll have the best of both worlds as we won't have rushed out and paid for the normal version and be craving the bonus and extra features... plus it'll be less buggy i expect... and cheaper.
so that leaves gt5... yeah its always gonna be better than forza... but its catching up forza is...

 

Yes MGS4 will most likely come to 360 like previous MGS did on xbox, Gamecube and PC, but it will be a long wait before it does, just as it has been in the past.

But your op started off like hearsay and preorders for a game that does not exist on 360 yet. Fine, you posted a link to PCworld but as it mentions, its a long way away and is most likely another rumour that they want to shout out to get attention. Why else would someone vist PC world website if they had half a brain. No offense intended to those that do.

I myself would love to get it on 360 for achievements and to use the 360 pad instead of the ps3 pad, but I dont want to wait much longer and will need some games to play on a PS3 this year when my wife buys me one for my birthday in April. There are great games for both the 360 and PS3 and I want to make sure I have both so that I can play the best games from each machine and not miss out. Maybe next year i'll get a Wii as there should be alot more games out there that the wife might fancy, or the odd cherry I might like.

Lets come back to this in 6-8 months when we may hear something offical about the 360 version after the PS3 launch.

 

Only 1 MGS was ported to Xbox, and that was MSG2 which bombed on the Xbox as well. MSG 3 was never ported, and MSG was ported to Gamecube as a remake with added content much later on, and to PC as well early on. No port of MSG has ever sold well either which isn't much of an incentive for Konami to try again (assuming MSG 3 was exclusive as a result of the failed ports.) It may or may not happen, but for all intents it won't and Konami shows no intention too.

Given the DS's success over PSP by literally twice the market you would think Konami would port the PSP version but they haven't. I'de venture to say they have the same vested interest for MSG4 on the PS3 as well.

 

I found the PC one fairly good with the expansion. That was fun I think my brother still has it under his desk somewhere. Probably worth a re-visit sometime.

 

as for mgs2 i know it was substance yeah but that was seriously worth while upgrade and the bonus content was awesome...

as for mgs3 yeah thats true... but imho that wasn't as big of a hit... they biased the story abit with things like having to take the piss outta raiden because some people didn't get the context of the story how they used him to show how slick snake was compared to raidens rookie attitudes and methods of action.

as for pc world no it was a link i grabbed... as i didn't remember the original search results that founded the thread. i merely chose it because its a british aswell as american distrobuted...
i personally hate pc world...

the point was i was trying to shed some light on it not make up some bull...

and as i said above by the time the ps3 gets its buggy arse into gear and makes smooth games bar gta/gt5/mgs4/re5 that have been in the works for years the 360 will be on it 100th+... so by the time we've bombed through them all it'll be the season for mgs... and lol you'll probably get a glance at the gta4 bonus content if theres a contract to how long before ps3 gets it...

Funnily enough none of my PS3 games have ever been buggy with the one exception of R:FOM where one of the aliens just stood still, and the console has worked flawlessly. Assassins creed played all the way through with out so much as a stutter.

You should maybe try peddling facts instead of hearsay, half truths and exaggerations.
