Electronics microprocessor at89c51

hi, i m a junior. i have got a term project requires that : design a digital clock using at89c51 and 6 led ( 7 segments) indicate : hour : minute : second.
so i dont know where to begin. please , anyone who knows about this tell me something.
it's very kind if you help me to find some block diagrams and programs in any websites.

start out with the basics, get an led to blink, then move on from there (controlling ports then moving to the clock).

there are lots of guides using the at89 series, google it

but most of all... have fun!
