Microsoft and Universal make Zune deal, label gets a cut on each unit

    well at least if youve already paid for ther record comapnies share then they cant complain if you download it.

    Typical...don't go and chase the market leader because every man and his goldfish has one so it won't stand a chance in court...instead get the newcomer to the DAP market and force them to pay 'royalties' or risk practically losing any chance of selling their product. As M4RTIN said, people will just feel more incensed to download music illegally now they feel that they're paying for it when purchasing a Zune, so it's going to do Universal more harm than good. I honestly don't know why I still buy music sometimes...

    And they just made it legitimate for any Zune owners to download whatever Universal tracks they want. I'd be fine with it. Flat charges are the way forward, the big companies are already taking flat charges in many countries on internet connections, blank media, now stuff like Zunes. All they need to do now is realise that they can't sue when they've already recouped their losses by charging a toll on the tools used.
