I'm glad Microsoft has finally admitted to the problem and taken action towards correcting the flaws.

I wonder whether this means Game will do swap-outs for three years?

******** will they. Game are tighter that a ducks arse.

Mine has no warranty on it anyway because I customised the case and controller. If it goes tits up I'll post it to Scotland, £50 for a 5 day turnaround.

When my 360 had the RRoD I took it to Game and they swapped it for a new one on the spot.

But that's because it's within the EUs 12 month warranty, anything past that goes to manufacturer

Nice!!!! They have been selling faulty gear for over a year and knew about it. People were not saying nice when sony realised its batteries were faulty and replaced them right away and recalled them.

How come MS gets nice and thankyou???.

Ms should be thinking of a solution, fix the problem and recall every Xbox 360 they have sold because of Manufacturing and design faults.

any other product that is found faulty is recalled and this happend everyday. Yet Ms still continue to sell products it knows are faulty and gets away with it.

Nice. Now I can stop worrying about whether my X360 is going to die within or out of the warranty period.

Hm, been thinking about getting a 360 for a while now but kept hearing about insane failure rates. At least that's one less thing to worry about. That said, I've got a few $3 games that I picked up used that I really should get around to first before I look into spending even _more_ money.

I don't think that was his point. People took the opportunity to kick Sony around when they had the battery recall, they still like to throw that around when they have something bad to point out in Sony; they also took action immediately when it became apparent with the battery failures. However Microsoft sells a faulty product for over a year, dodges the questions press asks regarding said faulty product, and then when they finally, after a year decide to actually adress the issue by fixing faulty units for free, they get a "Nice" and "Awesome". I'm not saying it's bad or that they shouldn't, but let's be real now. Sony could have just told everyone to deal with their exploding batteries, but noone gave them a "Nice" or "Awesome" when they recalled all the batteries.
