    From Microsoft-Watch via eWeek:

Watch out, Macromedia. Here comes Microsoft "Sparkle."

According to press reports, Sparkle is an animation toolset that will likely emerge as part of the Longhorn wave of products/technologies. Some are describing Sparkle as a Macromedia "Flash killer."

"Internet Explorer Sparkle is an web browser animation toolset that will likely emerge as part of the Windows 98 Longhorn wave of products/technologies."

Anyone else see a problem here?

Besides, the naming sucks. "Flash" is good, makes you think Flash Gordon or the Flash from the comics. "Sparkle" just makes you think My Little Pony. :D

FrontPage may have lost the battle, but it has won the war. M$ has it as part of office, and any boss worth the $200,000 he is earning will balk at purchacing any other web developing software because "they have FrontPage."

I'm actualy waiting for M$ to come out with a image editor comparible to Photoshop, even if it is not as good as photoshop, it would be included in windows or office, and not cost the $600 that photoshop does...

If they didn't charge so freaking much for their software (Adobe and Macromedia), Microsoft wouldn't have a chance! If for $50 I could get something better than M$'s offerings, lemme right a check :wallbash:

Why do they do this :grr:

This is what I hate microsoft for, if they are so keen on developing a product that will rival a competitor then they should sell it seperately, stop including things in the OS ffs.
