    That is certainly a surprise. It looks like lootboxes is turning into a battle between the publishers and the platform holders as much as it is betwee nthe publishers and everyone else.

    Lootbox scandal is kinda like the gaming worlds dieselgate - with EA playing the role of VW, getting caught out and ruining the party for everybody else.

    EDIT:

    And just like VW, people keep pouring money into their coffers and they keep their dominant position in the industry...

    Unless the source code is vetted by an independent non profit there is no reason to believe the displayed odds any way.

    (Yes: EA, Activision, Koei Tecmo etc have done enough damage to gaming to make me THAT cynical)
