Not so long ago I bought myself an Acer Aspire One netbook, i had been using the 60 day trial for office 2007 but that period ran out. So I got myself a copy of office proffesional plus 2007 and also an external dvd drive (I thought it might come in useful at some point.)
I have been trying to install it on to my laptop but without success. I type in the activation code, it accepts it, i then click install now, it'll sit there for about 20 seconds then come up with a message saying that there has been an error during the setup and everything stops. There is no information about the error and the only button is close.
I have tried removing the trial office but still it wont work.

Can anyone help me with this??

    Cheers
    Ross

I've seen this happen when system restore has been turned off.

Right now thats all I can think of ;)

okay, thanks for the advice. I checked if system restore was on, it was. I also checked the acer "erecovery" that is included on the laptop and there was nothing related in that. So still no luck :sigh:
This ones got me pretty baffled, ive run out of ideas of what could be wrong.
    Any other clues?
    thanks
