Lol at that price. Microsofts mice are rubbish in comparison to razor or logitech, if people want a razor, they can just buy one. Don't need to buy something that sounds like it's an elephant.

    The price also, is, bad.

That was my one gripe when I bought my razer mouse it was too small. I've got quite a large hands and going from an MS Inteli mouse to Razor was a transitional nightmare. Even now still have problems with the mouse as my fingers fold over the edge of the buttons, other than that Razer make excellent mice. Perhaps I'll splash out some more cash and buy this when it comes out.

I'll stick with my MX1000 thanks. Don't fancy the blue glow...or any glow for that matter.

Well said, I could not agree more. I just hope that this is not the begining of the end for Razor, it would not surprise me as it seems like everybody is buying each other at the moment.

"wireless-like" ??? wth is that. bluetooth is pretty widely available these days, why do we even still have wired peripherals.

Batteries are a pain in the nuts. I've gone back to wired mice, they're less hassle TBH, although a decent induction charged mouse could sway me...

Yeah, couldn't we make a mouse that's powered the same way as a kinetic watch?

Contrary to what spec might say, I happen to think Microsoft's mice are great, and am gonna have a hard time picking between this and a Logitech MX revolution to couple with my ergo 4000.

Hence why I bought the MX1000. No batteries. Just put it in the charging craddle when computer not in use or you go to bed and its all good. Even if you don't do that the mouse still hibernates when not in use and holds a charge for a long period of time.

Best mouse investment I ever made. Just not FPS suited. Could play an RTS like Starcraft and the like and even MMORPG's but response time is just not up to par for an FPS.

That's how my old one worked, except I often just left it out and after 8 hours immersed in morrowind it'd die, and I'd have to wait it out while it charges.

It didn't happen often but it was annoying when it did.

And what do you think it is that it charges? You guessed it, a battery of some kind! :p

On topic: It's got the hallmarks of a razer just looking at the blue glowey/slightly ribbed looking sides.
I too always found MS mice to be a good size and im quite pleased that they have returned to making hopefully good mice :)

You need to patent that RIGHT NOW. That is an awesome idea.

There's no way on earth you're going to get kinetic power to run a small laser, 2000dpi sensor, LEDs and bluetooth transmitter.

I've liked MS mice since they started making optical ones.

I'll never leave my wires behind :D.

Well, until someone puts a kinetic engine or what not in a computer mouse I'm more than saited with my MX1000's battery. I've left my mouse off the craddle now for 5+ days and have used it for at least 1.5hrs a day and its not dead yet. The hibernation function, which it goes into when not in motion for a short period of time, seems to preserve battery life excellently. I seem to only have to charge the mouse for a few hours once every 2 weeks. All in all for the casual user I think its a wonderful mouse.

Oh yeah, for the casual user/gamer I think wireless is great but being a heavy user myself I forever have to charge/replace batteries

I know ball mice suck, but as an idea, couldn't you make a ball mouse that used the motion of the ball to turn a small generator inside the mouse and broadcast a signal to a pickup?

Or something like the technology used with the Wii controllers?

Or possibly something where the mouse didn't contain any electronics, just something that a couple of pick-ups could track on a 2-diminsional plain? That would be nice as you wouldn't need batteries and you could have a VERY light mouse.

??? I would like to see mice move beyond optical technologies.
