what would be funny if it loaded more spyware onto your computer than you had before you installed it.
Bindi, you and i have the same situation regarding windows!

there aint nuthin wrong with it but on the other forum(hardforum.com) the users there have asid that it found spy/adware that spybot and adware6 couldnt find or destroy.

i use spybot/adware6 combo but i think i might b adding it to the list.

It caught one that spybot missed and seems to be just another anti spyware package. If you ask me the more the better.

Why don't you people try Hitman Pro ?
It's a combo of Ad-Aware, Mc Afee Stinger, Spybot SD, CWShredder, Spyblaster and Spysweeper...
The problem for most of you, is that it's a Dutch program, but once you've installed it, just start it up, press 'volgende' (it means next) a few time and the program runs and updates automaticly.
    Good Luck :thumb:

Direct Link - Hope that works. :)

This is basically the same product as GIANT were selling with the name changed.

On my system it wanted to remove FlashGet because it contains an adware component - well I have that registered so the adware is disabled (plus it never works outside the program itself). It also detected TightVNC and Messenger Plus!.

The only thing I didn't know was on my system was an adware sidebar thing for IE, no idea where that came from. AntiSpyware removed it for me.

Yer ditto, rather annoying that it detects programs that dont have spyware in, I think this may be its downside.

I know that most people will remove them without thinking even if they dont have spyware in :sigh:

    Yup, link.
Yeah, but scanners I have used in the past have offered to remove a lot more dangerous things and this does give alot of info about the infection (maybe with this community thing will allow people to set it as not spyware in the future - just an assumption). Just set it to Always Ignore and you are sorted.

For anybody wondering about the interface (something I've found anoying with scanners in the past):

Like quack said it's the same as the giant product. MS didn't even bother changing the icon! Been using Giant for a while an I see NO changes in this beta version from the latest version Giant was selling. "If you can't beat them, buy them" or "if you create the problem, let someone else sove it for you" :eeek:

I up dated both adaware6 and spybot, then ran both. Then I ran the MS anti spyware, and it found 17 instances of spyware. All from eXact. It seems to work.

Two thumbs down. It didn't find anything on my computer and the last thing I need is another invasive Micro$haft piece of software doing things I don't want it to do. I'm careful and keep my system clean. The only regular spyware I get are the usual search cookies. I'm also careful about free software and such that bundles it in with it. Anyway... it's not for me and the fact M$ bought it wasn will undoubtedly mod it.... another reason to stay away.

    Ad-aware does what I need.
