Unfortunately this is more backward then previous models, the mouse scans less and polls less, bluetooth isn't fast enough to keep up

Beauty is only skin deep in this case, which is rather unfortunate.

i cant really see the advantage of having a blootooth keyboard and mouse. unless you are going to have a bluetooth monitor or lcd panel as well

From what I understand, this will have a longer range than conventional wireless models. Also, is it possible, that with the available bandwidth of bluetooth, they may be able to up the sampling rate of the mouse to bring it more in line with conventional wired ones.

    Just a thought

why can't they make a wired version? why, why, why?

Why don't all the good stuff get taken up? Bluetooth's excellent for personal area networks but it's either seriously expensive or poorly implemented :(

    Just look at minidisks.

Congratulations to microsoft though for getting bluetooth keyboard and mouse though...

What about a wireless/bluetooth keyboard that you can charge though a usb port? Now there's an idea :)

the new bluetooth mouse and keyboard look good...BUT...can you use the bleutooth adaptor for other things like my Ericsson T68i bluetooth phone? Or will the adapter only receive and send signals to the keyboard and mouse ONLY?

otherwise we'll be fulling up our USB ports with bluetooth adaptors for every different bit of hardware we have!

Good question but if it's bluetooth then shouldn't it be compatible with all other bluetooth things?

Does it actually come with a bluetooth adapter?

Each adapter (1.1) can service up to 8 bluetooth devices can't they?

oooooh, what about typing onto your handheld, mobile, fridge, toaster...anything that's bluetooth enabled? I'd buy a keyboard for that!

See my MX700 thread...I've used an MS wireless Explorer...its simply not on the same planet. So I don't expect this stuff (which is going via Bluetooth) to perform anywhere NEAR what this mouse can do.

Can you tell I like it?
