    I can't help but feel that under the current CEO, it'll be a case of Embrace and Extend, then once Microsoft has a less stellar year (or more), they'll need to blame someone/something, then under a new CEO they extinguish.

    We live in a seriously weird timeline.


    I think this is partly Microsoft flaunting the fact that they've finally successfully made the move away from selling boxed OSes as core part of their business. They don't care whether you use/pay for Windows anymore because they have all that sweet sweet cloud services money.
