I'd go for the XFX 4890 as the clock of the gpu is slightly higher and it looks a lot better (I think so). Also I have this card and I think it is fantastic, not had any problems with it.

    Definitely recommended!! :D

Edit :Just noticed, the 520W PSU will barely (and I mean barely) have enough oomph to get your 4890 going. I have recently seen a forum poster that had trouble with a 4890 that wouldn't work at all (except for the fan) and it was due to his 500W PSU.

I believe that the minimum required PSU is 650W if you were going to put it under any stress at all but 700W is recommended if you are really going to stress it. I have a 700W PSU and haven't had any problems.

    Good luck with your system!!!

    You can't delete anything. :)

You could have just posted something like "Sorry I think this is in the wrong section, mods can you please move it?".

I would get an xfx gtx 275 over 4890 as its faster, plus a phenom II x4 BE edition if your going down the AMD route.

Why does everyone keep recommending the GTX 275, the HD4890 runs hot but the stock cooler can be switched out, when it comes down to the card the HD4890 is the better card overall

I believe that the HD4890 is the better card, and I think you get more "Bang for your Buck" if you buy a triple core Phenom II and unlock the fourth core.

500W should be more than enough for the HD 4890, the person if reference must have bought a discount power supply with shoddy rails and though it stated 500W it was probably outputting 350W if that... a good corsair or bequiet PSU should handle the HD4890 at 500W even if the headroom will be small
