...monitor, that is (Three days with shipping) I'm just want everyone to know that I'm really really happy I've upgraded from an 8 year old 15" Dell LCD to a 20" Viewsonic. My eyes are so thankful they feel like crying...
I remember switching from a crappy HP 15 incher to a 19" Dell flat-front CRT, it was amazing how much easier on the eyes it was!
I have just got an Acer 19" LCD from a mate at work, and its so much nicer than my two 17" CRT's!!! Now all I need is another 19" LCD, and my two 17"'s can be relegated to server duty! Joe
I switched from a Dell E550 to a Cornerstone P1500. Thats 14 inches to 21, and 1152 resolution at 60Hz, to 1600 at 85Hz.
1280x1024 on 14"? awesome! I went from 1280x1024 to 3840x1200 Probably won't be long til i'm on 5120x1600
I remeber moving from my old 17"CRT jobbie to my 19" widescreen LCD. It is sooo much easier on the eyes. And 1440*900 pixels of eye sex!
I remember going from 2x 19" CRTs to 2x19" LCDs. They cost a bloody fortune back then... I don't regret it, though. I would have gone blind for sure if i hadn't done it. (besides, do you have any idea how much desk space 2 CRTs take?)
No! Not more lolcats! (And I realise that comment may well turn this thread into a lolcat dumping ground) I went from a god-knows-what CRT that came with the 386 my dad got free from work, to a crappy 17" I got with my PC World PC to 2x 19" LCDs. Although I find my second LCD would be all but useless now if I didn't use my 360 on it. I used to have EVE open in my secondary monitor but since I stopped playing I've not used it in a long time. I think I'd much rather have a massive monitor than two small ones. Although the dual monitor support in Supreme Commander is awesome, although I don't particularly like the game.
Yeah, my amazing day came when i went from a 15" crt to a 22" LCD. I cried profusley when it turned on, and i still dofrom time to time.
My day of amazement came when I went from 1x17" TFT to 1x17" and 1x19". Then my day of being elevated to the rank of Lord came with my 24" Dell
??? what monitor was that???? in the day of 14" monitors that must of been very expeensive. I went from 14" 480 x 360?? to a 15 which was 600 x 800 then to a 17" belina 1280 x 1040. I loved that monitor, it was the first monitor I ever bought and cost me £150 from PC world. That the was switched for a 19" Belina again from PC workd for £150. Then I switched that for 2 x 19" CRT IBM P96 monitors with cost me £140 the pair. I gave one to my bro and the other is abought to be skipped as I have now gone to a 46" 1080p Samsung LCD which I find myself squinting all the time because im sat on my sofa and the text is so god dam sball I cant see it lol.
ive never had a 14 that would do more than 1024 x 768. used to run a 15 at 1280 x 1024 though. on a nice 24 inch now. and at at a similar res to a crt i was on more than ten years ago. i was using an ezio 19 inch at 2056 x 1536 for ages and it was a shock to go down in res to a 19inch tft but the desk space was most welcome. then stuck three 19inch on my desk and was back to no space again
i just got a 24" dell 2407wfp-HC in last night. coming from a 17" TFT (and a 17" CRT before that, and a 14" CRT before _that_), it's just, woah
