Linux Minecraft; Official Bit-tech server

So a Pickaxe and a long time. Simple enough. I've had more frustrating grinds before (It takes approximately two minutes to break Obsidian with your bare hands. I had to break six blocks)

EDIT; Hrm... Minecraft has been logging into the server for five minutes now, I'm thinking I have the wrong IP perchance...

 

Are you connecting to the survival server?

 

Found the issue; I'm running 1.6.6.

To my knowledge the server is still on one of the 1.5.x's

 

I'm on 1.6.6 and I can connect fine to XM's server.

 

No problems here either. Maybe your Minecraft had one of those I-hate-Notch moments...

 

Perhaps. Then again, the IP I was given was for the "Hardcore Survival Server", and I'm uncertain as to how many servers there are actually running (Nearly 200 pages of thread is a bit much to read through and find out.)

 

Well, there are two servers, the 'official' Bit-tech run Creative server, and the survival server run by XM (with tonnes of bandwidth ). I'm guessing yours is the survival server address - send me a PM and I can get back to you if there is a spelling mistake or something.

 

Hey guys, waning to know the addresses of both servers. PMed Bindi then DragonovHUN without reply a few days ago... could someone PM the IP addresses to me? I would like to join in the fun!!!

 

Can anyone tell me what the catacombs are because I think I might have slightly blown them up.

I was digging a tunnel from under my house at Dylans castle and i made a drop into the top of a huge empty cavern which I accidently dropped into upon which I immediately got mobbed and 'sploded (and lost pretty much all my stuff). I went to look around afterwards near the same co-ordinates (348, 32, -1309) and from what I could tell it leads to the mine tunnels under Wolfy's & MDM's houses (well I also stumbed upon a connecting shaft to the tunnes further up so that's what I presume)

I think I need some creeper insurance.

 

Ouch. I don't think Creeper Insurance exists, outside of whacking chests down occasionally to save the most important items.

I know I can win against a single creeper in hand to hand, but I need one hell of a wide open space to pull that off.

I think i've found a little place for this, EC, a distance from Kronix's Gatehouse, it's visible from the cartline connecting it to the spawn.

 

I got a couple too. Was fun throwing a pice of wool into one.

So yeah, I'm currently playing with some friends on a private survival MP server. I've sort of claimed a valley in the tundra as my own and started filling it with stuff. I liked the idea of keeping things off the ground as not to disrupt the landscape too much so airships and space stations seemed like a good idea.

Last time I made one of these this it was built out of wool, but decided to use sandstone for the airship in case some tool decided to torch it. It's a private server but we've had accidents with fire in the past..
