Hi ive had this old mini fridge lying around for ages and after discovering ur site 2nite i dicided to take it to bits and have a play and the pelter on it is strangely the perfect size to mount onto a cpu has any1 tryed this electric cooling method before as i could do with some support with the project thanks.. Stoner
LOL thats one expensive fridge but yah i have acctualy taken my mini fridge appart as it didnt work anyways but ive got the peltier that cools the fridge acctualy looks kinda like a heatsink and the same size, i am just going to continue with my invention and see how it goes ive got a few old mobos i can risk ****ing up anyways also last nite found a massive peice of see through acrilic so some cool mods will be taking place soon, home made all the way Also my msn address is themadstoner@gmail.com cheers
If you give me 10 mins i may be able to get a pic of what i mean kk here it is Sorry bout the pic took it with an eyetoy lol
Muahaha ive just marked up the acrilic case for it too which will be cut then i will assemble it and it will fit conveniently in the cd drive bay Isn't it amazing what u can do in one nite lol I'll keep u all updated on the progress
I'm Also going to start my homemade water cooling system which ive predicted to lower my cpu temp to about ummmm.... will -20 do
That would be a peltier, whole different animal. That one is probably too small to do anything with. (IE. Fried processor).
Thats just a little project tht im working on my water cooling system is to come in the future Sorry the pic is a bit **** its bigger than it looks ill get an updated pic asap
Here my case that i will be using for this project. Before painting: After first coat damn ran out of paint till torrorow
is that c or f and of course you know that water freezes at zero dont you. http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/article.asp?CIID=26054 ambient temp of mineral oil flowing around the cpu was -61c and the cpu still only got down to -7c, they used one of your peliter fridges which couldnt even keep the liquid cooler than ambient, and needed nirogen pellets to get the temp right down. -20 for the core may require liquid nitrogen
did i say was using water i suppose i did say water cooling but thts just cos thts generaly what the setup is known as. Also this is my first serious mod and ive only spent less than a couple of hours on but well see what the outcome is, i have a little trick up my sleve lol cheers for the info anyways
I remeber that article! Can see the the issue sitting on my floor... After adding the liquid nitrogen there was just a huge lump of frozen oil around the motherboard.
well its all working now just gotta try it out on an old mobo ill post an update soon Broke peltier Found fridge freezer modding time Does anyone know the freezing point of mineral oil???? Cheers Help appriciated
