I think dowels would work, shame though as ive got the holes in the rear panel now, where the screws would go. Need to think on that one.
Little update. Sanded and laquered, de nibbed, second laquering, has a smooth feel now and a little shine to it. Bottom panel shouldnt be too hard to do, so hopefully soon. Looking like a mini case now?
I think this one so far can best be described as pretty. It's got nice soft lines..thats a complement by the way..lol
Thank you. It does have a softer feel (if thats possible) and look than i expected, maybe the slightly rounded edges, or the colouring of the laquer? Jeff, i only except compliments, If it was an insult, i might have to slap you. (then run away very fast) I hope youve been counting the years down to completion, as one of my workmates recons the completion date has gone upto another 5 years minimum. Im having to hold my tonuge and not quit my job,(when i get peed off at work) so i can get this completed.
Really nice wood work. I'd almost call in carpentry However, next time, how about using a more marbled kind of wood? Bird' eye maple, for instance - or dyed birch, perhaps?
Thanks. The main reason im using the Beech, is because its free. However im sure i could order pretty much anything in at good price. I will see how this turns out first. I just dont have much room for loads of pc cases hanging around, i think this hobby requires bigger houses to keep the stuff
You won't have to run very fast with the start of my knees. I mugged 2 8 year olds for their sweets last week and they caught me with in about 60 yards Between you and Nutman with lengthy builds, I might just have to hang around the forums for ever to see them completed. And as for to many rigs laying about, I know what you mean. I need my very own geek room for all my sh*t...Erm I mean stuff.
Well build one, second thought at the rate you are going that would be in your next life Starting to come together Pablo, looking gooood
Today, i cut and prepped wood for top and bottom panels. 180mm*400mm Trimmed squared and sanded. However, as i wasnt expecting to do anything on them today i didnt take in my camera. I dont use one of them mobile phone things either, so no camera available. Will take a few pics Monday, but im sure youve seen the procedure anyway for me prepping stock. May not be able to slot them till Thursday, will see how it goes as usual.
Oh man, that bedspread is awesome! Sorry, I mean that work looks great, nice and chunky. I think you made the right choice of wood, but I have to comment on the burn marks. These should sand out and the part will look much better.
Not my bedspread, that room has more light. Mobo tray cpu hole is gonna be re routed out for cleaner edges, burn marks will dissapear . So all should be good, well hopefully, not that you will ever see the burn marks, but i know they would be there.
Hmmmm, not sure on aspect now, base seems longer than i was expecting, but i want the dual rad in the top. I may have to go for single rad in top now?, too make look correct height to depth ratio. Or i could just do it as i wanted it and have a longer depthed one
Thanks riekmaharg2 The bottom panel is yet to be properly sanded, the depther took too much off in one go (well my fault not machine). I must get a fast coat of laquer on it, to stop any warping tomoz. Then route out that section for the ssf psu and take sides down to slot in the side panels.
