I've seen some projects by DarthBeavis in protective cases, guess there must be some snides who try to damage but yeah, nice mods should be shown off, I just get too clingy to mine lol.
Thanks Matiss, I was wondering about the gaming while riding and it got me thinking about wearing a virtual reality headset. What would it be like riding on a real track while the bike running a MotoGP game ? .... (yeah I know I have to much time on my hands ) You're kidding right ? why would anyone want to do damage someones build, Worth thinking about though. Thanks Nate, I know you're into the CNC side of things so it means a lot (Happy B'day btw)
Thanks Imersa, Phame has done a crackin job on the res. Mayhems deserve the big up, it's good to see companies develop from small beginnings to being major players. (yourself included) Thanks man, I will have to keep an eye on it me thinks. On another note, Prep for paint is going really well and I'll update by the end of the weekend.
Ugh you make me want one of these little bikes. I live close to Ford Airfield in West Sussex and could ride around in there all day Any hint as to the colour you're painting it? or is that a surprise? Either way cracking work so far mate. Really novel idea this
I know what you mean about being tempted with one of these bikes, they are good fun. I used to be able to run these at Matchams race track but noise restrictions put a stop to that. The colour (s) will be a black belly pan with manufacturers logos (race style) For the tank and fairing - A base colour of white (pearlescent/Flake) and I have some Mayhems droplets being produced ( x30) these will be used as masks/templates and ghosted in with blue flake. The best way to show this is with Michael Dunlops race helmet he wore at this years TT (imagine that the Dunlop is the Mayhems droplet) The Frame will be a nice blood red , imagine Ducati trellis frame and you're there. Wheels will be white with polished rims, motherboard tray will be red. To fit in with ROG colours
I should have known a bike fanatic would be a fan of the TT. Admittedly my experience of the TT is largely limited to grumbling at bikes going past the exam hall at 200mph down the Lezayre straight during my GCSEs and A levels. That and doing homestay for TT guests most years. Nowadays it's just the perfect recipe for expensive flights and not being able to get a boat home once university has finished. (quite predictably just at the start of race week) Still, it should look great.
Wow, that colour scheme is absolutely banging ! I've got a thing for black and white my old tuner rice car was painted holographic pearl over white with black accents.
Sponsored by Prep for paint update 22/06/13 So now I'm now looking at starting some of the paint work, Luckily I have a family member that is a professional paint sprayer and he's agreed to help with the paint. I was originally going to get this airbrushed but the cost is ridiculous for what I want. With all the sanding done it was time to fill any unwanted holes and stuff i didn't like. I used a flexible plastics filler it doesn't have a very long working time and had to do this in three batches, yes it sets that quick. It's applied the same way as any other filler and sands down really well I made a makeshift spray booth in the shed. This is ample for laying down some primer and the final coats will be done in the family members booth. The panels were wet sanded between coats wiped down with white spirit and tack cloth. After 3 coats, I applied some satin black onto the belly pan, The satin paint is very easy to get a good finish with. The gloss coats for the other panels will be done by the professional sprayer. The logos will be applied and lacquered in and that is the belly pan complete
An Isle of Man resident, Damn I'm sooo jealous, The races get better each year and this years was no exception lap records getting smashed and the Zero race nearly hitting 110 mph average. Crackin stuff. I can imagine how hard it can be doing exams while it seems everyone else on the planet is outside having fun on their bikes Thanks Andy your motors paint scheme sounds nice, Only the belly pan will be black, the rest will mainly be white with blue accents ... Mayhems colours
Nice to visit, a little dull to live there growing up. The buses being on strike all TT along with the road closures was great fun. The bassist from my last band, Connor Cummins, does it. He's got a good 4" on me, eternally surprised he stays on the bike. Considered WiDi and a wireless Xbox controller so someone can ride around on it while someone else plays games on it when you're showing it off?
Conner Cummins goes quick, that's for sure (not the broadest of blokes tho') I hadn't considered that, but there is a few ideas. Having said that originally I wanted the PC part of the bike to run off the batteries too. Very possible but the battery draw would be too much, Riding and running the PC would drain the batteries in no time. On full charge I get around 20 minutes running.
Doesn't mean that some of the LED's can't be connected to the batteries tho' There was a handy lil connector on the motor control unit for lights Battery technology will get there eventually but for now......
I have had people turning fans and pumps off if they can when my SR2 was displayed, luckly mine have a minimum setting rather than off. Dont underestimate peoples jealousy/stupidity. On topic...maybe its time fix the gearbox and break out my ZXR again! TT is awesomesauce, nothing better if you are a racing head.
