Yep, its a tiny one. I have a family member that thought they were getting Playstation 3. I had to set them straight.

Yeah, they look good don't they?

I wouldn't mind having one of those instead of my 'old' one.
But I think the flip top lid kind of defeats the purpose, I can't for example buy this version and stick it in my very cramped rack space where the older versions would never ever fit becuase then I'd have to pull it out everytime I wanted to change discs :(

They should have made it slightly thicker with a normal ejecting tray - it would have been much much better then.

    Just my opinion ;)

Now I'll just sell my PS2, its 4.5 years old, DVD doesnt work, Vibration doesnt work, memory card slot 1 faulty, doesnt always read disks..... blimey.

However, does anyone know whether I can use network play on this new PS2?

word of warning - not that 98% of people who own a PS2 care, or even if it's relevant in the UK, the mini PS2 does not, or will ever have, support for the hard drive addon. unless of course they release a USB version :p

but by the sound of the sony press releases, they won't/

Very impressive work, but one bad thing is that you can probably snap the thing into 2 pieces easily

That really depends if you use it to play games on, or as a primative snowboard.

I'm with you on that one. it is nice and small but with a flip top lid its virtually 4 inches tall if you are limited for space. Still, at that size you could probably tuck it away with your DVDs when not using it.

That picture is a bit deceiving, even linford Christie's packet would look small against an original Xbox controller.

My xbox controller has a completely different button layout!? I think its even bigger than the one in the pic?? :eyebrow:

Flip lid does defeat the object but it is nice though.

Theres two versions of the X-box controller, a big one and a small one - the small one from Japan, and everyone in the west liked it as it fit our hands better, so they brought it over here!

There is a picture here that has a normal PS2 Dual Shock 2 Controller next to it as a size comparison.

(you may have to click a link to skip an advert in order to see the picture)

I must have big hands then, cause my "big" xbox controller fits mine perfectly.

The big ones fit fine in my hands as do the small ones. Though I prefer the thumbsticks and d-pad on the small one, they are much nicer to use.

Bindi, that pic is of the big one. If your white + black buttons are below the coloured buttons and start and back are on the left then you have got a small one. controller. well, the smaller one. its still pretty big :)
