im thinking about getting a laptop, which is a PIII600 with 320mb ram.

Im just wondering if this is enough to play a decent res divx (eg, a 700mb dvd encode.

for example one with a 608X256 res (just the first one i checked)?

would this be alrighty? or would there be frame loss?

also with the Speedstep thingy does this mean that it would be less likely to play when on the battery?

    cheers

on the outskirts, a little village called Winterbourne - full of old people :/

RE: The speedstepping thing, I dont think that'll affect it at all. I myself am using an XP-M processor on my laptop (which does the same - underclocks the CPU if not all being used) and that plays fine even with just 5% battery left.
