does anyone know which version of mIRC DOESNT have the mirc-trojan in it? i tryed to run it at work to have a chat at lunch time and sophos anti-virus grabbed it and sent an email to the network admin :duh: he then sent the details to my boss who told me about it, thus leaving me red faced

    :duh: !

You could always try another IRC client. Something like ViRC or XChat.

I haven't used mIRC in ages as I much prefer ViRC, XChat & BesIRC.

I use the one built into Trillian, but I think it can only open one connection at a time. I started using it cause I was fed up with the IRC virus thing too.
