If it's a glass mirror, then a glass cutter. A plastic one you can do with a dremel or hacksaw.

i gonna make faceplates out of it and i have a cyber fussion case...do you think that if i put blue window tint over the mirror that it would have the same effect as the mirror on the front of the case?

umm I think you can just score it, then vert carefully break it off...depending on the thickness...

    Glass cutting:
Dip the cutter in alcohol, shake off excess, then use a straight-edge as a guide to make ONE score into the surface where you'd like it to break. Use medium-firm pressure on the glass cutter (just enough to scratch the surface) and start the score about 1/8 inch in from one edge. If you need multiple cuts from the same sheet, they can all be made prior to breaking the sheet. Once scored, move the sheet to the edge of your table so that the scored line aligns with the table's edge. Put one hand flatly on the part of the sheet that'll remain on the table, with the other hand smartly break off that part which overhangs the edge and catch it.
This method will provide perfect cuts in any glass up to about 1/4 inch thick. If someone can host pics, I'll go take some of these actions in-progress. Have been cutting glass for various hobby applications for about fifteen yrs., it's much easier than most ppl would think.

Yes, just use a slower speed setting. Plastic mirrors won't be as good quality, though.

If you put the reflective stripping on the back, it might be somewhat transparent, but it should b, in the mot part, reflective. You could probibly use the reflective stuff macroman used in his project "Macroblack." Or, you could probibly get a mirror, and use blue car window tint film.

    Just some suggestions!

hey macroman i dont understand...would i be able to do the same thing to a peice of plexi glass as you did in your maro black project. how did you get it to reflect so much was it just from painting the inside off the case?

when you put black or silver on the back of clear, whether it be plexi or real glass, it becomes reflective ... and if you put light behind it, you can see the light thru it, thats why i suggested the silver car window tint on plexi with blue tint in it already ...

that would be the easiest way to get blue tinted mirror drive faces, and the leds will shine thru enuff to see unless its in direct sunlight ...

im assuming black film would make really dark blue, silver bein brighter ... and prolly shine-y-er ... the bronze would probably give a green-y aqua-ish look ...
