Windows Missing or Corrupt Windows/System, can't boot.

    ok, i woke up this morning, and turned on y computer, and after the bios screen i get a messag esaying that window/system is corrupt or missing, and cannot load operating system. then it says put in boot disk and push r for repair, but my disc is oem, and i cant even boot from it. So, i tried my other hard drive same thing?

    Sounds like u need to reformat mate :thumb:

    Change your first boot to CD, pop in your XP CD, you might need to press a key to get it to boot from CD just after it posts. Type the following commands:

    fixmbr
    fixboot
    chkdsk /p /r

    Reboot and change your first boot back to your HDD, all should be well. If not it looks like you'll have to bite the bullet and format :blah:

    i dont mind reformatting, it's just that it's not reading the cd. :wallbash:

    OEM discs are still bootable. Check your BIOS boot order.

    i got it to go to repair
    but it only gives me one option for what to repair

    It'll say something like choose the OS you wish to logon to. Press the number of the right one and press enter. It will then ask for the administrator's password, enter that then you'll be given the command line. I posted the commands ^^ :)

    Try Bart PE and make a rescue cd. You will love the results :)
