Guys, Have just installed a new Agility 3 in the girlfriends computer, after the install im showing 4gb RAM installed but only 2 useable. CPUZ reports both sticks installed aswell. I cannot change the memory into the other 2 slots as cooler/height issue. Ive reset BIOS but no change. Has anyone experienced anything like this before ? Asus P55 LE 1156 4BG Rpijaws 1600 2x2 I5 750 Any thoughts would be appreciated cheers.
Check that the "Memory Remap Feature" is enabled in the BIOS. While your there, check if the BIOS is showing the whole amount.
The re map feature is enabled, tried the MSCONFIG and made sure the maximum memory is unchecked. Googling the problem seems to bring up the same board, many people with the same memory. I have another 4gb i can try when i get home. Strange problem and im sure the full 4gb was fine until i re booted today.
Have you run memtest86 ? take out - have a good visual check - and reinstall / reseat ? what's telling you that only 2Gb are usuable ?
In windows itself (right click computer) says 4gb but only 2 available . As its at the girlfriends house bit hard to do anything to it just at this moment in time. Real crappy problem!
