Sniipe, you really get a ban on XS? If so, my estimation of you just rose. Either way, it's pretty high, so no worries. Been seeing a lot of names disappear from there, you, Shintai, etc...

Looks like ****, but that's high build surfacer/primer tacking some stuff in place for paint. It's FAR better on my end than it looks. Also,blame Cheaps. And el gatos.



That's my lift-off rad cover, in early stages of shaping. It gets styrofoam, papier-mache, plaster, paint and then impasto with heavy-duty extenders. By the end, even a raw styrofoam edge looks like a dream. Yes,that's a ****-ton more money in the top of this as well. It's embedded there permanently in dollops of fiberglass.

I'm a bit shy of 'glass to finish the base. Other than that, it's finish paint and touch-ups.

There are a lot of little touches I'm throwing in the base as I complete it that will only be apparent to me and macro camera work. The end is tomorrow, most likely. I'm doing it RIGHT.

Well, it booted today.

It hangs at 2A. Board can't initialize PCI-E/PCI. It is, for all intents and purposes, dead.

I don't have a spare, I don't have the money for a spare, I don't have much energy even for a spare.

This project is now for all intents and purposes dead. I dunno WTH I'm gonna do. I have a few things lying around I could sell, but that's kinda not what I wanna do, either.

If I replaced it, I'd leave out the chipset loop this time. I'm SURE that's where it went wrong. However, I could have EMP'ed it, or any number of things. I'm gonna give it overnight, and see what happens.

Tomorrow determines the fate of this. I like hope, I'm just short on it.

RMA the board if it died. Pretty simple actually.

Why would the chipset blocks kill the board if you installed them properly?

Sorry to hear about the failing mobo.
What have you tried to get it booting again? Reset CMOS, remove battery? How hard is it to pull the mobo? Reseat/reinspect block mountings, etc? Pull cards and boot test nekkid?

I'll lend you some my hope, if you're a little short!
