I recently acquired a busted laptop (a Hi-Grade Notino M13000) and the screen seems to be in working order, i have found a part number on the back (as in the title) and i was wondering whether it would be possible to wire it to a VGA cable? I had a bit of a look on google to no avail, does anybody know anything?
The topic of connecting laptop screens has been done to death, theres a long answer and a short answer, the short answer is that it cant be done. the long answer is that it cant be done without spending alot of time and money finding a controller card that supports your particular LCD by which time you may as well have bought a normal desktop monitor and ripped the screen out. Laptop screens dont use VGA or DVI to connect to the motherboard they use LVDS which is just a connection protocol rather than describing how the data is sent so there are many different versions. If you search here on bit tech you will find a LONG thread about it. Moriquendi
