so i just picked up this cooler to throw onto my 7870ghz edition and WOW the perfomance is amazing
ive a high airflow case ( Silverston RV02 ) and my idle temps are 24 degrees ( no idea what ambient temp is tho ) with an enermax vegas dual ( lets face it not the best fan on the market ) at its lowest speed ( and all fans in the case down at low on a fan controller ) and i get 62 degrees with load ( heaven benchmark )
i might even have a stab at runinng the cooler passively to see what kind of numbers it kicks out

I had a T-RAD 2 back in the day and it had the same sort of effect.

They might be massive, but boy do they do the job.

At £50 without fans, it bloody well ought to be amazing!

    Agree 100%

For the price of it, it really does have to be perfect. Thankfully it is :)

decided to use the AMD baseplate of the cooler with mine so i had to dremel away some of the metal around the socket to accomodate the coolers mounting arms, and my dremel broke ( stupid cheepo one, so im not that upset ) so i had to manually file 3 notches and snap off a small bracket, all went well in the end and it looks and performs brilliantly, just need to source some more permanent fans ( thinking a pair of Sythe GTs )

I'd recommend 140mm fans, as they move more air and are quieter than 120mm equivalents.

My priority was quietness when choosing my fans anyway :)

Just a heads up, recently attached my MK26 to my GTX680 after selling my 580 and have been blown away once more.

It idles at 20 degrees, and the highest temp reached at load is 50. That is the actual temp, not delta t! And all this while my 2 Thermalright 140mm fans are undervolted to completely silent speeds.

The case is a Corsair 550D, which has 2 front intake fans completely blocked by my hard drive cage and PSU cables and such, and one rear exhaust. All 3 120mm fans run undervolted again, at a completely silent speed.

The CPU is an overclocked i5 2500K with a Gelid Tranquillo cooler.

I mean an overvolted 2500k inside a closed up case like the 550D with only one exhaust fan, and the GPU temps are still that low - just crazy  Gratz to Prolimatech for being ridiculous.
