64-bit PCI slots, as its probably meant to be a server board.

As it's a development board, there's no chance of ever getting one. It probably doesn't work terribly well either.

All the DIMM sockets and all the other various sockets etc are for test equipment, and for testing loading on buses etc.

    2 things:

    how much and gimme :)

i'll just have on of those cards too, as regardless of those slots being agp or PCI64, you'd need them placed alternatly to use that massive gfx card. so you could use more than 1 anyway.

So, i'd have it for this machine and the mobo for my server :)

I have seen that board all toooooooooooooooooooooo much :blah:

It actualy works very well, as it probably gets more development then most.

I was at the A64 launch (Where the photos are from)
I was actualy surprised to see it there as a motherboard for show.

Of course it would make an awful general use motherboard, server motherboards aren't designed for over-excitable kids ;)

i love it how poeple get so excited over these kinds of things
quad R300 card? you would get better performance out of games with a well placed 9800 pro
dual opteron board with 16GB of ram and 64 bit pci? again better gaming on a 875 with a quick P4

and at a small small (small small) fraction of the price

that is if a normal OS and DirectX even works properly with them

    more isnt always better

    :grr:

    spoil the fun then.

We all know its totally intangible to all of us. But sometimes it's nice to think that there is something out there that can make you instantly happy by simply being in your possession. And it's nice to think about having that thing.

    let . . it . . slide :D

    - edit - it's always people that can afford the latest + greatest that burst the bubbles of those less priveledged.
why not just let the imaginary cogs turn? it wont hurt. sure, offer your educated opinion, but dont spoil it for the rest of us.

just makes me laugh because i have a mate that decided to buy a dual P2 xeon, way back when they were something pretty damn special, he reckoned it would be 2x faster than mine, being 2 cpus and all

my singe P2 rig beat the pants off it in *EVERYTHING* and was less than half the price

so just leave me alone :p

i was referring to what a vast portion of people here would be interested in a system for actually
