I'll post it anyway. This is a design for me but I started it because of this comp and it was origanlly an entry. Its big but it looks cool so I hope is allowed. It does fit an matx board though.

    What do ya think?
Also it has its name (anasasisxenophontis) glowing on the top.

Can I just put a matx board in it?

Your case is huge. If you want to enter, you must make your case smaller

    hi everyone...
i'm totally newbie with google sketchup...
but recently, i like design computer cases...
with this SketchUp MNPCtech & Bit-Tech.net case design contest
    i would like to participate.

this is my design... GEDEBOG (im design using only PENTIUM 4:))
    no tubing yet (no time..sorry)
as u can see it's not small.. but this case can handle big n long VGA CARD
and 2 big rad... with 4 HDD bay n 4 SSD bay plus 1 optical drive (on rightside)

hopefully you like it... adore it.. or hate it :D
    enjoy..

    Holy macrel, Editor! Me like!

-I'm done. At least I don't feel like working on it anymore. The last tube over the top of the cards was enough to drive me mad.
-Started out as a steampunk, but I never got a chance to do the necessary design cues.:(
    [IMG]
-This shot shows off the 10 degree forward tilt. Feel free to PRETEND there's a window in the optical drive. I didn't have the time to build the needed drive guts to simulate one.
-The booty shot. The 1/4 rounds under the PSU were for a hinged cable cover. -again.. no time. The hole in the underbelly was meshed over, but it killed the view of the insides, so I nixed it.
-Here's a view with the door off.
...10 pounds of mud in a 5 pound bag... There's still collision in the tubing. After re-working the top one six+ times, I don't care anymore. It would only take a minute to run hoses in real life anyway...
-Just the guts, and it's still a pretty cramped image. The radiators are soldered together into one with a big reservoir on the top. A custom plenum on the bottom allows the barbs to be closer to this side.;)
I found room to stuff 2 standard hard drives in. The brackets mount to the unused fan mount holes on the radiator.
-Underbelly view of the guts. Hose fitting got dicey in here. This also shows the SSD mounted in the side panel blister.
-Front / top down view. I had planned to add a load of filigree work to the front and around the 'Vac tube' reservoirs. The feet were to get a lot of work like that too.:(
    [IMG]
-The frame. I didn't get to do the assembly details either. It's pretty junky at this point.
...But you get the basic idea. :D

Edit:  Ninja'd by five posts!:hehe: Welcome to Bit-tech, Jackjack! (Edit of edit:2009, OK welcome to the comp, anyway.:hehe:) I like the armored look you have going there. The mix of fans in the front looks neat too.:D

I'm still going to enter, i have time for a marathon-session of designing today! :D

Here's how far i got untill now:

I'm still figuring out the exact placement of all the components, and after that i'll get to housing them in an attractive manner. Ofcourse the case will include some sort of mounting mechanism for the screens, and i'll also add a DVD thingy.

Wow some awesome entries coming in! Loving the final design cheapskate, you'll have to run a tutorial soon for how you get such crazy/smooth shapes in su!
Thank god I bought an I phone yesterday, now I can keep up to date while my family sleeps in the office :)
Hope you get your design finished extra
oh and welcome to by jack jack :)

    OK, I'm finished!

    ORB-IT

Here's the deal: I was thinking SFF, sure, make this thing small, let's jam some components in and put a box around them. Then I thought, motherboard and graphics cards are not really that bulky, it's the coolers that take up all the room. One way to deal with that is water cooling (which I have never used and know nothing about) but I figured, why do the HSF have to be inside the case anyway? Put them on the outside and they'll get plenty of cool air and allow for a tiny case. But to do that you need some sort of attractive looking HSF. And I like the Ruby Orb a lot. So I decided to use two of them! I'd hazard a guess that it will cool a graphics card well enough, it's a big sucker. Just needs a custom mounting bracket and you're away laughing.

So the whole design stemmed from there; I chose a very small micro-ATX motherboard and laid the graphics card flat on top of it, boxed them up and left holes for the orbs. The case is made of acrylic, white with a bit of red here and there. Don't ask me how it will actually all join together, I have no clue! A Power supply on one side and some pipes here and there to run cables through. A card reader and a small cooling fan and then all you need is a cheesy name. ORB-IT for the Ruby Orbs of course.

The computer is designed to be small, quiet, multi-purpose machine, not for overclocking. Other points? I left the modular plugs on the PSU exposed so you can use them to run other peripherals, external hard drives, whatever at your leisure. Drives in the case I will tap some power leads off the main ATX power cable. I have only exposed the necessary slots at the back of the case - I figure if you want audio from the back use HDMI. And I hate having the redundant motherboard graphics connectors there.

Um, that's about it I guess. Here are some more pics. I'm sure I don't have enough rads to win but this is the first time I've done this and I hope you guys like it :)

@Extra - I thought yours was going to seat behind the screens?

How about a glass desktop, so you can see all the pc components through the desk?

dammit, i cant get it finished in time!

I'll be here for the next one, and i'll finish the model anyway (i'm obsessive like that) :D
The screens are standing behind it for size comparison, in the end i'll incorporate some sort of motitor arms that hold the screens above the thing. A glass top is an awesome idea, i'll definately go for that!

Argh Argh Argh, I currently don't have a pc that can run the beast that is my entry to finish, gonna have to do some juggling! Luckily my entry is on an external... Is it midday or midnight that it finishes? 12.00pm always confuses me

    EDIT:
I present to you BloodBox, it's missing a couple of wc tubes but this is about the case right :)
Unfortunately had to do this on a slow laptop so not the best images in the world either...
    Anyway the overview:

I present to you, the Box o' Surprises. The main thing about this design is to minimize space. It was really a tight squeeze to get all the components to fit in properly, without sacrificing (much) performance.

(Those 2 chunky buttons on the front side of the top are power/reset buttons, had to make them quickly :sigh:)

(Please note the open ends on the loops are going in the reservoir)

    (without GPU loop)

    The case itself:

I hope I'm still in time as I'm unsure wheter 12 pm is midnight or noon

what happens to the graphics cards when its closed, is there somewhere to hide them in the case?

Nope, it isn't possible to close the door when you have a PCI-E graphics card added, only possibility is to have intergrated graphics

and wouldn't you have to drain and refill the loop every time you wanted to remove/install the GPU's? It's a great Idea, but I just can't help thinking it would run better on air, than water, especially as I don't think you have enough surface area for XFire+CPU loop with just that one rad ++ it's lack of fans, or apparent space for them I can't help but think temps would be close to or in the thermal shutdown area.

A low profile cooler and air cooled gpu's could make it even smaller; absolutly tiny!

p.s. I love your use of an international cylindrical scaling tool.
