    (Mrs Krabappel enters room)

Today's lesson is "Media Exposure 101 for PC Modders"

If you don't have thousands of dollars for marketing, you will have to do outrageous things to gain the attention of mainstream media, which has insatiable appetite for Tacky.

Can anyone here give me an example of Tacky?

Cheaps -"My old Pea Green Dodge Van with Purple window tint"

Thats a good one, but we're talking about PC Mods. Let me show you some examples of Tacky...

    (turns on overhead projector)

1st image is a PC Mod with WWII German theme and MP40 machine gun for carry handle. "Although it's executed nicely, this PC Mod is very Tacky and leans toward controversial, depending upon the viewer"

2nd image is the size of a shoe box and is covered with rust. "I don't know what this is supposed to be, but it's beyond Tacky and could be breeding ground for Hepatitis."

    3rd image is

@Bill- How did you remember my van?:worried:

I don't see how #3 is tacky. If I had stuck with the full Beetlejuice-style idea from the start, it would have been much wilder. -Think clear red and deep purple with lots of points and curls.
...Then there's the previous design, which will go unseen.:hehe: This is VERY tasteful in comparison.

@Waynio - I drew it up, Bill asked for revisions, and there were many hours of concept talk.

I'm really excited for this one, i used to be a regular on the mod nation. Having met Bill once (I went to the system install party for project "Spirit of Dragon & Tiger") I can tell you he is the perfect guy to do a show like this.

    What? No pressure there.:hehe:
I guess it works out in my favor. Once GG is finished, I'll (almost) have more computers than uses. This way I can still come up with stuff and get to see it built.

At some point, I'd like to build something that could be auctioned off for a charity.

Can't say I've actually seen a mod done purely for charity so don't know, if you do this though get word as far & wide as possible so it gets noticed before actually doing it, would ideally need to make the news or at least news websites even, I suppose then I really think it could be very successful.
